July 5, 200718 yr what a sweeeeeeettt plane that is! I did a demo ride for free...it is a sweet plane! (yes i'm saying it again)the plane flies like a champ, she takes so SOOOO smooth and flies smooth as well. we were climbing at 125knots and we got to 8500 in about 8 minutes if that. did some slow flight and the plane flies very nice even at slow flight! (about 70 indicated) also when the plane stalls the nose does not budge down, it'll just sort of buffet.landing the plane is very nice too! we came in to apporoach at like 170 knots lol (maybe even faster, i think i remember seing a 200 there haha) and were able to slow the plane down to app speed of about 90 very quickly! (especially with the speedbrakes) she lands smooth too, but does like floating a bit, TnGs are transitioned very nicely. one thing is, you have to nudge the throttle very much like the mixture (screw in and out) so it might be kind of hard to used to, but seems very easy to do, and lets you dial in those MPs real smooth. It also had a #### gauge which was cool because you'll get a much longer time out of your engine/turbo with it.all I did was fill out some application on their website, some rep called me and we went flying! about 1.5 hours for free! woohoo!
July 8, 200718 yr You lucky dog!FlightVideo Productions finally has their Columbia 400 video up for sale. Thinking of getting it as I have their KingAir video which I like.http://www.flightvideoproductions.com/columbia_400.htm
July 8, 200718 yr Author Didn't think flying a 4 seat aircraft would be an experience worth documenting on film. Chris Miller
July 8, 200718 yr It's not far different from a 400 seat plane. Takes off, climbs, cruises, descends and lands, 95% of the time in autoflight :)
July 9, 200718 yr Author Yeah I couldn't imagine watching a video about the anguish of a glass panel. I usually want to throw the fire extinguisher through the glass panel whenever I fly one. I'm just happy I am back in the Bonanza tomorrow! Chris Miller
July 9, 200718 yr Author Those are a little different and about 1000 times more reliable then the crap they are putting in these GA planes. Chris Miller
