Firstly, I am on the SU4 Beta.

I have the sim setting turned on for third person walkaround. If I hit Esc and get the menu screen, I can see my avatar standing outside in that static image. However, as soon as I go back to the live image, I cannot find me anywhere. I can get some keyboard keys to cause movement but I don't see me moving around anywhere.

Seems like I must have something simple not set right but I can't figure out what it is.

Can anyone help me figure out what I may have wrong? Thanks.

OK, if I am outside the plane and hit the down arrow on my keyboard and hold it, I can then see just the bottom of my avatar's legs on the bottom of the screen image. So I am there but not in the part of the image you can see.

I am hoping that helps someone to help me.

You have to bind a button/key to see yourself in third person, think mine is the same as Chase Cam but not at PC too check.

Figured it out. Read something about using the backspace button to move in and out of walkaround mode. I tried it and it worked. I was not properly in third person mode. I feel silly but at least it's another personal mystery solved LOL.

In real life, you don't see yourself (unless you look down at your legs) when you are walking around, do you? So why should it be different in the sim?

Because it is third person walkaround. That means you should see yourself. Once I hit the backspace key on the keyboard it worked as it should and I could watch my avatar walking around.

Needless post? Think about this: you don't see an image of yourself sitting in the cockpit during flight, do you? So when you press Shift-C to leave the plane, is it realistic to see your body suddenly appear as it climbs out of the plane and walks around?
