November 30, 2025Nov 30 I reinstalled SimWorks Studios RV-14 in MSFS 2024 and couldn't find a way to remove the co-pilot. In 2020 I could do this by setting the co-pilot weight in W&B to 0.0 lbs, but now I can only do this in EFB and 0 or 0.0 doesn't work anymore. Selecting none for co-pilot avatar in settings also didn't work. Is it still possible to remove this dude? For the life of me I couldn't understand why SWS decided that having a default co-pilot dude in their airplane is a good idea, absolutely driving me nuts. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
December 1, 2025Dec 1 The only way to guarantee it on an SWS aircraft is to remove the Copilot entry from the aircraft.cfg - [PILOT] pilot="Pilot_Male_Casual" copilot="" instructor="Pilot_Male_Casual" 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
December 1, 2025Dec 1 Author Thanks! I believe my RV-14 is a MSFS 2020 market store purchase, so is it still possible to get access to its aircraft.cfg? Sorry that I don't have my flightsim computer to check right now. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
December 1, 2025Dec 1 Try the freeware Gotfriends Legacy Weights & Balance addon: https://www.got-friends.com/collections/freeware/products/legacy-weight-balance Just add to your community folder. It puts a little weight icon in your 2024 handlebar that brings up the same weights and balance screen you see in 2020. I tried on the RV-14, and it removed the co-pilot just fine. Hope that helps

I tried to download it but it requires an account with GotFriends - just too many accounts for me to create and remember... Fortunately I remembered that I also bought RV-14 from SWS directly specifically for the purpose of easy modification of aircraft.cfg to remove co-pilot. I redownloaded RV-14 from SWS, edited the aircraft.cfg, and now I'm finally alone in the cockpit. Problem solved. It's really annoying that I can't do this easily with Market purchases. I prefer buying from Market place since the transactions are so much easier and streamlined. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
