Opinion about Carenado A42 and A72

Featured Replies

Hello fellow simmers,

Carenado has a 30% discount for their aircraft. I'm thinking about to buy the A42 and/or A72. I know Carenado is not study level, but that's no problem for me. I have a few questions.

How is the integration with the RXP GTN 750? Does it work good? Are there any issues with it?

How easy is it to update to the latest airac cycle? I have a navigraph subscription.

I have several other aircraft from Carenado and they work fine in P3D 5.4 (that's my sim). Do the A42 and A72 also work good in 5.4 and how is the impact on fps?

Thanks. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all flight simmers.

The ATR-72 works very well in p3dv5.4! Like you pointed out it is not study level but good for flights from A to B. Haven’t extensively tried the gtn integration but when I did try it, it worked pretty well! The default fmc is also decent enough (even though very basic).

Hi Rein2

My sim is v6.1, GTN750 works well as I intend. I think it should work on V5.4 too.

Integration is easy by using add-on pull down list selecting GTN.  You can use GTN as pop-up window and integrated VC panel too.  Please refer attached link of my setting.

As you may know you should add lines in the RealityXP.GTN.ini file located in the folder of aircraft.

I am subscribing Navigraph only AIRAC data.

Also, as you know, AIRAC of GTN is kept in old, may be 2 or 3 cycles or more.  If you update AIRAC data of Carenado (It is easy to update by Navigraph FMS Data Manager), the data of way point may be different between GTN data and Carenado data.

I usually make the flight plan by Littlenavimap and export to the applicable folder of GTN.  Sometimes GTN can not import the flight plant if the way points name are different.

I have to input all the way point data in the flight plan menu of GTN manually in such case.

No impact to FPS in my case, my PC is set 4.9GHz i7 12700k and rx3080.

Please enjoy flight sim.

Has anybody been able to make GSX recognize Hotel mode? Right now I'm refused any ground services because GSX believes I have one prop running.
