MSFS 2024 - PMDG 737-800 Touchdown sounds

This is actually not necessarily wrong.  If the speed brake was auto-deployed (because you had it armed for landing, or because of reverse thrust actuation) and then subsequently manually stowed when clearing the runway, the auto speed brake actuator isn't retracted.  It does not retract until the throttles are moved forward beyond a certain angle, and then you will hear the auto speed brake actuator retract.  It sounds the same whether it's actually moving the lever or not... So yes, you'll hear the "speed brake retraction" sound, even though the lever has already been manually stowed.

You'll also hear this sound sometimes after takeoff (it's louder in some aircraft than others) when it goes through a self-test cycle.

If PMDG is simulating the logic of the system correctly, that's actually a plus for them.  I can't test it personally as I haven't seen a reason to install the PMDG for 2024, but maybe someone can do some experimenting.

The thing is......if that is actually the sound of the speed brake actuator, then there seems to be no change at all to the touchdown sound when compared to version 4.00.005 (even though this is claimed in the update information)

I actually really like the new PMDG sounds for the 737-800. Having mentioned the delayed touchdown sound, I have completed several landings today that did not even seem to include that particular sound at all!! Only the light "swish" evident in the previous version, followed by the thrust reversers engaging. Whatever the case, I think that this update has improved the "buzzsaw" sound of the engines from the cockpit. That sounded a bit too loud to me in version 4.00.005, but they seem to have toned it down now.

Whilst on the subject of engine sounds (and since Boris is clearly reading this thread), I would like to ask a question regarding the sound of the 777F GE90 engines from the VC. I have listened to the sound of 777s taxiing, departing and landing hundreds of times from an external standpoint, and those GE90s have always had a distinctive HOWL. My question is......do these sound different from inside the cockpit? The reason I ask is because they have more of a WHINE with the Boris Soundworks package installed (as heard from the VC). I was expecting this to be much more like the howl that I know so well.

Okay for the ge90 I just made it what the engine sounds like and attenuated into the cockpit with proper filters and affecting how sound falls off. All my bet team real pilots (and there are many) all said it sounds really good and what that remember it like. The howl is very prominent on idle for a couple minutes after startup and then it gets quieter, which I also simulated.
