New OOMs with FSX

Featured Replies

Im getting out of memory ctd's in FSX when I never had them before.

Ive done half a dozen flights on the same routes, same scenery and same aircraft with LOD on 8.5 without any problems at all for many years.

Now, on my new W11 computer Im getting ooms when I never did before. Im using DX10 fixer the same way Ive always used it and im still getting omms now. HIGH MEM FIX is on.... Ive tried FSX and FSXsteam...I even tried a different card and drivers. What has changed?

Perhaps having a read through of this thread below will help.

Both yourself and the thread author have the common denominator of a new Windows 11 PC.

Cheers

I will provide the same reply here as in the other thread (based on my experience upgrading hardware and reinstalling FSX): One thing to consider is that maybe your new specs are too good? I had something similar happen to me when I upgraded my hardware : my new computer loaded scenery, etc. to efficiently and suddenly VAS became a problem (even with all my resized textures, etc.). Maybe try lower your settings quite a bit? Personally, I finally gave up on FSX at that point and moved to P3Dv5.4.
