February 20Feb 20 First of all, I love PSXT with real traffic and I am sorry I did not find it before. Tried SI, BATC and FSLTL and finally there is a traffic injection that is real/realistic. I am using MSFS2024 However, I have tried it a few times and read the manual but I have a couple of questions. 1. Yesterday I was just established on final and then traffic comes from the side and literally flies through/or 10 feet above me on approach. Of course have to put TCAS in TA mode. I asked PSXT tutor, but it says that traffic cannot disappear. However, I read somewhere in the forums maybe that people are mentioning something about user aircraft taking AI aircrafts place on approach if it is too close? Also I see there is something called collision avoidance? What does that do? What will happen if I wait in queue for departure and there is traffic approaching the queue behind me? On approach traffic shows up very late in TCAS, which makes it impossible to sequence myself for approach when there is a lot of traffic. How do people here deal with that? 2. Airport files. I have read the manual, but still not sure what it is and if it is something I should do anything with? I understand it is a document with all the information PSXT learns about the airport. But I see people talking about editing the files and stuff? Can someone explain to me like I am 5, what I should know about airport files? 3. Parking stands. How do you manage this when you are arriving at an airport. Are you simply just taxiing around looking for available stands after landing? This has been my method at least. (would be great if I could "reserve" a stand in the PSXT app before arriving at the airport like during my approach briefing maybe). 4. Last question is about AIG models. I used FSLTL when I tried out PSXT first, but because of limited and outdated models, I installed AIG models yesterday. Only tried it once but it seems maybe like AIG has bigger performance impact than FSLTL, or is it because I am mixing both? Also the AIG models is very loud. Is there a way to adjust that volume? I understand the last question is maybe better suited for AIG forum, but I assume there is a lot of experience with it here as well. Thanks in advance

I do not have a marketing budget, so please tell your friends. 1 hour ago, Uppern said: 1. How do people here deal with that? f You have colision avoidance user air, but I assume you have not switched that off, have you? (This functioin has a problem that slipped in in 14.0, it will be solved in the next release of PSXT) Then there is the Block an aircraft function, select the aircraft in the drop downlist and push block. The aircraft will disappear immediately. Traffic in TCAS is set by parameters in your aircraft, you can set range and altitude offset. I recommend +-2700ft and 60nm range. 1 hour ago, Uppern said: 2. Airport files. As a beginner, don't worry about airport files. PSXT will load the file for the airport automatically. You can see the file in \airports\park_airport.xml, but do not make any changes in it, it is a temporary file. The file contains info about the aircraft that have parked there in the last week. 1 hour ago, Uppern said: 3. Parking stands. You can reserve a stand in the file airports\my_park_airports.txt. Where you have been at your last visit will automatically become your active reserved stand. Read all about this in the Manual, I'd say. 1 hour ago, Uppern said: 4. Last question is about AIG models. Ask about that in the AIG Forum, pls. Btw: I have 4 AI packages installed with 17000 liveries in total and see no problems. But my computer is fast and my MSFS settings moderate, the latter is more important in my opinion. Enjoy PSXT! As a beginner, just make a number of flights to get used to it. Do not bother about other aircraft, they will disappear if you come close , if collision avoidance is active. Edited February 20Feb 20 by kiek
February 20Feb 20 AIG models and liveries should be better on performance. What you might be noticing performance wise is simply the difference in having more traffic injected from having more models and liveries. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
