First of all, I love PSXT with real traffic and I am sorry I did not find it before. Tried SI, BATC and FSLTL and finally there is a traffic injection that is real/realistic. I am using MSFS2024
However, I have tried it a few times and read the manual but I have a couple of questions.
1. Yesterday I was just established on final and then traffic comes from the side and literally flies through/or 10 feet above me on approach. Of course have to put TCAS in TA mode. I asked PSXT tutor, but it says that traffic cannot disappear. However, I read somewhere in the forums maybe that people are mentioning something about user aircraft taking AI aircrafts place on approach if it is too close? Also I see there is something called collision avoidance? What does that do? What will happen if I wait in queue for departure and there is traffic approaching the queue behind me?
On approach traffic shows up very late in TCAS, which makes it impossible to sequence myself for approach when there is a lot of traffic. How do people here deal with that?
2. Airport files. I have read the manual, but still not sure what it is and if it is something I should do anything with? I understand it is a document with all the information PSXT learns about the airport. But I see people talking about editing the files and stuff? Can someone explain to me like I am 5, what I should know about airport files?
3. Parking stands. How do you manage this when you are arriving at an airport. Are you simply just taxiing around looking for available stands after landing? This has been my method at least. (would be great if I could "reserve" a stand in the PSXT app before arriving at the airport like during my approach briefing maybe).
4. Last question is about AIG models. I used FSLTL when I tried out PSXT first, but because of limited and outdated models, I installed AIG models yesterday. Only tried it once but it seems maybe like AIG has bigger performance impact than FSLTL, or is it because I am mixing both? Also the AIG models is very loud. Is there a way to adjust that volume?
I understand the last question is maybe better suited for AIG forum, but I assume there is a lot of experience with it here as well.
Thanks in advance
