No Strobes above 10000ft

Featured Replies

Hi Kiek,

I'm writing because I'm redoing all of the light fx files for AIG and I'm running into an issue where the strobes disappear above 10k feet when the landing lights and tail lights cut off.

I've tested this with AIG Traffic controller and I have strobes at all flights levels, so I know this is PSXT injector related.

I have "control lights external" selected in AIM-OCI settings, and "AIG_TC_PSXT_Check_Parameters" set to false in the Model behavior defs.

What does PSXT tell then traffic as far as lights go? Would love to have this rectified!

Running MSFS2024

Thanks!

Kyle

Hi Kyle,

PSXT switches the strobes off at 10,000 ft. It has been doing that for about ten years now… no complaints 😉
But I understand I might be doing it wrong? If so, I’ll change it in the next version of PSXT.

If an aircraft is equipped with strobes, regulations require them to be operating at all times when airborne, no matter what the altitude.

However, many airlines do switch off landing lights when climbing above 10,000 feet, and switch them back on when descending below 10,000.

Would love for strobes to be equipped above 10k feet, as this will add to the realism of the sim. The new lights coming soon with AIG are very immersive, real, and tailored to each aircraft. To have strobes above 10k feet for those PSXT users would elevate us even more!

And as Jim said, strobes are always on from when the aircraft is on the runway to when it's off.

PSXT does that too.

It has already been updated, but expect the next PSXT release April 12 at the earliest.

Hey

Soon.

Probably a public beta of PSXT plus a new RT App version first, because there are so many updates..

Is it only me who still does not see any strobes on AI?

@kylejm89 where have you seen this AIG model update you mention? Has it been released and if so is it just about updating the flightplans in AIG manager to get it to work?
