April 24Apr 24 Dear Nico, I hope you’re well. I’m writing to report an issue I’ve encountered while trying to use PSXT (v14.5.0) with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, in combination with RealTraffic (Standard Edition 11.0.391). I have a fully working setup in MSFS 2020 using RealTraffic → PSXT, where live aircraft are correctly received and injected with appropriate models and liveries. However, when attempting to use the same setup in MSFS 2024, PSXT consistently reports: “# live aircraft: 0” This occurs despite the following: RealTraffic is running and clearly displaying live aircraft data PSXT is correctly configured (tested with both RT Direct and RT App modes) Correct ports and broadcast settings are enabled (10747, broadcast to 3rd party apps ON) Livery and model matching is working (thousands detected) PSXT connects to MSFS 2024 (SimConnect appears active) In addition, I have followed the Quick Start Guide for MSFS 2024. However, there are discrepancies between the guide and the current MSFS 2024 interface: Several referenced options (e.g. full traffic disable settings) no longer exist MSFS 2024 does not allow traffic to be fully disabled (only reduced to “Low”) As a result, the simulator continues to generate duplicate or generic aircraft even when traffic is set to OFF or LOW This makes it difficult to determine whether PSXT is injecting traffic or whether MSFS is overriding it. The key issue appears to be that, while RealTraffic is functioning correctly, PSXT does not receive or process live traffic data when connected to MSFS 2024, despite identical configuration working in MSFS 2020. I would appreciate any clarification on the following: Is PSXT + RealTraffic currently fully supported in MSFS 2024? Are there known limitations with SimConnect or traffic injection in 2024? Is there a recommended configuration specific to MSFS 2024 that differs from the current Quick Start Guide? Is the inability to fully disable default traffic in MSFS 2024 expected to interfere with PSXT injection? I’m keen to get this working properly, as the setup works perfectly in MSFS 2020 and I’d like to replicate that experience in 2024. Many thanks for your time and for continuing to support this excellent software. Kind regards, Paul
April 24Apr 24 Author Additional technical detail from the PSXT log: PSXT successfully connects to MSFS 2024 and receives RealTraffic data, and aircraft/livery matching appears to function correctly. However, aircraft injection consistently fails with repeated: CREATE_OBJECT_FAILED messages in the log. This suggests that MSFS 2024 is rejecting SimConnect object creation requests, preventing PSXT from injecting live traffic despite correct configuration and data flow.
April 24Apr 24 Hi, 1) PSXT + RealTraffic fully work in MSFS29024 without any problems. 2) No 3) No The Settings for MSFS2024 in the Quick Start Guide are still valid, maybe you have an outdated one? This is the actual one. 4) " MSFS 2024 does not allow traffic to be fully disabled (only reduced to Low” Then you must have missed the option Off, that you get when scrolling one more to the left. Same for parked traffic.
April 25Apr 25 Author Hi Nico, Thank you for your reply. I’ve gone back through the MSFS 2024 settings again and you are correct — I was able to locate the options to fully turn traffic OFF by adjusting the sliders correctly. However, I am still unable to get live traffic injected into the simulator. To help clarify, I have attached a PSXT log from a recent session. The log shows that: PSXT successfully connects to MSFS 2024 RealTraffic is connected and live traffic data is received Aircraft and liveries are being matched correctly Despite this, no aircraft are injected into the simulator. The log repeatedly shows “CREATE_OBJECT_FAILED” messages when PSXT attempts to create AI aircraft. For reference, the same setup (same PC, same models, same RealTraffic) works perfectly in MSFS 2020, where live aircraft are correctly injected and displayed. This suggests that the issue is specifically related to aircraft injection into MSFS 2024 rather than configuration or data flow. I would appreciate it if you could take a look at the attached log and advise whether this behaviour is expected, or if there are additional steps required to enable successful AI injection in MSFS 2024. Many thanks for your time and support. Kind regards, Paul I have attached the log file here Edited April 25Apr 25 by psouthan
April 25Apr 25 Hi Paul, Thanks for your detailed report and log file I was wondering, did you install the 2024 version of the AIG package ? Regards Nico Edited April 25Apr 25 by kiek
April 25Apr 25 Are you certain that those AIG and FSLTL aircraft collections are active within MSFS 2024 and not just 2020? Run AIG's AI Manager and ensure that you have MSFS2024 selected. While the OCI setups between 2020 and 2024 are nearly the same, having it properly setup for 2024 ensures that everything needed is in place. April 26Apr 26 Author Hi Nico, Thank you for your reply, and also for taking the time to look at my log. I believe I may have identified the issue on my side. I hadn’t realised that I had not installed any AIG AI models for MSFS 2024 — they were only installed for MSFS 2020. Apologies for the confusion and for any time wasted as a result of this oversight. I am now in the process of installing the AIG package for MSFS 2024 and will report back with the outcome once I have tested it. Many thanks again for your help. Kind regards, Paul

Hi Paul, Thank you, but no need to apologize at all, I’m glad I could help. Although it’s a bit outside the scope of PSXT, I’ll add a note about this in the QuickStart Guide so others can benefit as well. Regards, Nico
April 26Apr 26 Author Hi Nico, Thank you again for your continued help. I wanted to provide an update on the steps I have taken since my last message. Following your suggestion, I realised that I had not installed any AIG models for MSFS 2024. I have now installed the AIG package properly for MSFS 2024 using AI Manager, including several airline OCI packages. To simplify troubleshooting, I also installed FSLTL and tested using FSLTL models instead of AIG, to rule out any model-related issues. In addition, I have: Confirmed that RealTraffic is receiving and displaying live traffic data correctly Verified that MSFS 2024 has all default traffic disabled as per the guide Checked that PSXT is set to MSFS 2024 and connecting to RealTraffic Despite this, PSXT still shows 0 live aircraft, and no traffic is injected into the simulator. For reference, the same setup continues to work correctly in MSFS 2020 on the same system. I have included a new PSXT log from a recent session for your review. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look and advise what might still be preventing traffic injection in MSFS 2024. Many thanks again for your time and support. April 26Apr 26 Hi Paul, Your logs are from september 2025... Fri Sep 5 17:50:28 2025 (utc) PSXTraffic version 6.5.0 for MSFS Please post the correct one (Log.txt will do).
April 27Apr 27 Author My apology. I think that log was from my 2020 install. I believe this is the correct one! I've included the parameters TXT for you too. Thank you Paul Log Text Parameters Edited April 27Apr 27 by psouthan
April 27Apr 27 Hi Paul, You are using FSLTL aircraft only Set the aircraft selector at AIG only and try again.. EDIT, and of course , scan for liveries first after you have set the Selector at AIG ... Nico Edited April 27Apr 27 by kiek
April 28Apr 28 Author Hi Nico, Getting a little exasperated now. Still no joy! Just a quick other question. I installed the beta version of Realtraffic and created a folder called Beta. I have now installed the latest version, but can't find the settings folder to delete the old beta folder. Can you please point me in the right direction where that might be. Attached is a new log Log Thank You Paul Edited April 28Apr 28 by psouthan
April 28Apr 28 c:/User/<you>/Appdata/Roaming/InsideSystems delete also RealTraffic.ini in that folder After starting the RT App, go to standard settings , choose PSXT in stead of Spotter
April 28Apr 28 Author Hi Nico, Thank you again for your help. I wanted to give you an update — there has definitely been some progress. After further troubleshooting, I discovered that the connection issue was related to the simulator host setting. I changed this from “localhost” to my local IP address, and this resolved the connection problem. PSXT is now receiving data and I can see live aircraft being injected. As you can see from the attached screenshot, aircraft are now appearing in the simulator. However, there is still a significant issue: The number of aircraft is very low compared to what RealTraffic is showing I am not seeing aircraft taking off or landing at major international airports Overall traffic levels appear far below expected So while injection is now working, it does not yet seem to be functioning correctly or at realistic density. I would appreciate it if you could advise what might still be limiting the amount of injected traffic in MSFS 2024. I just went to flightsim 2020 I was getting a 107 live aircraft at EGCC, but in 2024 I get nowhere near that! Many thanks again for your continued support.
