May 8May 8 My 8 year old Dell Gaming laptop still runs great but wonโt upgrade to Windows 11. After a few threads here in AvSim and a stubborn refusal to let good hardware go to waste, I figured Iโd give Linux a try and THEN see how much trouble itโd be to run X-Plane 12. The answerโฆ? It was only the tiniest bit more difficult than a fresh install of Windows and then X-Plane, and took no extra time, either. ๐ Here we are on long final to PHHN Hana in vanilla XP 12 running on CachyOS (Arch Linux for dummies like meย ๐) p.s.: the only "hard part" was telling Linux to use my nVidia RTX 1050Ti (!) card instead of the onboard Intel GPU. Took 5 mins, including the google search.ย ๐๐ค Now, on to getting Steam games installed and really seeing how compatible my Windows games are. ย Edited May 8May 8 by UrgentSiesta
