May 16May 16 Hello Gang.Taking the A330 out for some circuits and I can't get the A/P disconnect alarm to shut up once I disengage the autopilot. Happens in all variants of the default A330. Any ideas? Thanks for any insight.Dennis Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. May 16May 16 Commercial Member Might have something to do with controller assignments, try setting the button on your joystick to AP OFF, and AP disconnect in the controller menu. If you don't have any controller for whatever reason, the red button on the aircraft's joystick will disconnect the AP.
May 17May 17 Short, direct answer: On the default iniBuilds A330 in MSFS 2024, the correct control to bind—so that your joystick button behaves like the real Airbus sidestick red takeover/disconnect button—is:“Autopilot Off” (and optionally also “Autopilot Disengage” depending on your hardware)This is the one that disconnects the AP on first press and cancels the AP disconnect warning on the second press, exactly like the real Airbus sidestick red button.🧭 What you should bind (and why)✔ Primary binding (required)Autopilot Off This is the MSFS event that matches the Airbus sidestick AP disconnect logic.✔ Optional secondary binding (helps on some controllers)Autopilot Disengage Some hardware only triggers the warning cancel on this event. Many Airbus sim pilots bind both to the same button for reliability.❌ Do not use:Autopilot Toggle → This toggles AP on/off and does not behave like the Airbus sidestickSet Autopilot or Autopilot Master → Wrong logic, may re‑engage AP instead of cancelling the alarm🛫 Why this worksThe Airbus sidestick red button performs two functions:Press 1: Disconnect APPress 2: Silence the AP disconnect warning (“Cavalry Charge”)MSFS implements this behavior only through the AP OFF / AP DISENGAGE events.🧩 Recommended setup for your joystick buttonBind your chosen button to:Autopilot OffAutopilot Disengage (optional but recommended)This gives you perfect Airbus‑style behavior:Press once → AP disconnects Press again → Alarm silencedAsk Copilot 😁 Edited May 17May 17 by jcomm Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
