Looking for some GSX advice.

In MSFS2024 when using the traditional 3D Parking editor to move ground equipment objects around, i understand that it automatically engages the sim's Slew mode.

When this happens and you try and use the arrow keys to move GSX objects, the external view continues to pan and tilt away from the object in focus/view making adjustment difficult as you need to keep recentering the view.The GSX object repositioning is working fine.

Is there a way to unlink the movement of the camera so this view remains static so you can see the object adjust it's position when the arrow keys are used? My slew command keys are mapped to the std slew translation movements....W, A, S and Z for forwards/backwards, left and right while Q and E raise/lower the height and keys J and L provide the panning.Slew is in principle working fine.

I left this question in the GSX forum a week ago, but so far no response there.

Does everyone else experience this same behavior with the 3D parking editor and using the keyboard arrow keys? Is this solvable in the 3D editor or has everyone else moved to the map view/editor?

Maybe this is a keybind issue but I am usually hesitant to mess around with key mappings in the new MSFS2024 profiles.

I can’t help with your issue as I break out in hives trying to use the built-in editor for GSX, but I can tell you that salvation is not far off. I’m putting the finishing touches on a new feature to our latest product that allows you to do all this stuff at any given stand without having to touch GSX at all. We call it ‘the nudger’ although we probably need a better name for it.

I can say that arranging all the ground service equipment beautifully within the lines with nothing other than a drag and click of a mouse is wonderfully satisfying for my OCD…

That sounds very promising. Would like to hear more when you are ready. Is it limited to ground equipment and would this include the VGDS stands and what about adjustment of parking spots themselves?

Sure Mark. I don't want to fall foul of the mods but as you asked this is the product I teased at FSXExpo called Go2Gate - the first region pack served being Europe.

I'm yet to unveil everything that it can do but it's focussed heavily on the ground immersion layer using immersive audio, real world flight and gate data and of course leans heavily into GSX as the benchmark ground services add-on. Go2Gate is still WIP but there will be a couple of different flavours inside the program of being able to move GSX stuff around at the gate - firstly 'the nudger' is simply designed to fix a badly authored stand where you load up your flight and the pushback tug spawns and sits half in and half out of the terminal building for the entire ground setup, something that gets under my skin. You load up the nudger - it connects with your sim and you click on the offending GSE item and nudge it into a better position. Exit. Done. The 'gate builder' is a whole different beast where you can quickly author entire gates very quickly, including resizing, Safedocks etc to your liking. So if you fly regularly to an airport which has a messy GSX profile or one that doesn't work for your aircraft very well - perhaps you fly the ATR and it's anchored around say a 737 size - you can tweak it to your liking. Go2Gate can keep track of what you're flying on that flight and ping the correct GSX .py profile in for a given gate. The real world gate of course, because it uses real data.

This is only one part of it - I haven't mentioned global replacement voice pack for the Captain, ground crew and cabin yet with 336 regional voices for Europe alone, the real world gate and pushback data and the ability to hand to GSX the stairs, pushback tug and handler of your choice. When it all comes together, it's pretty cool. I'll keep you posted.
