Monday at 02:04 AM3 days Been a while since I posted some screenshots. I flew the XP12 Piper Chieftain from Henderson, NV (Las Vegas area) to Telluride, CO. XP12 is very different from MSFS in the way it looks and feels. It's not for everyone, but it has some great things going for it, especially if you want some accurate aviation-related variables.I've got quite a few addons working in these pics. The amazing Jetstream Piper Chieftain (payware), the TDS GTNxi (payware), the incredible KHND scenery from Jetset Designs (freeware), and then the landing airport is KTEX from X-Codr (payware). Additionally I am using the high quality streaming version of XPME for my aerials (payware). There is a freeware option for medium resolution and it works pretty well for anything above 5000 agl or so.The weather was quite nice so I opted for a VFR flight at 17,500 once we got a clearance out of the Las Vegas class bravo airspace, with flight following. This aircraft is turbocharged but not pressurized, so we used oxygen most of the flight. The flight took about 2 hours with a cruise speed around 230 knots over the ground. We depart NE-bound towards Lake Mead, and then continue just north of the Grand Canyon. Page field (KPGA) is roughly the half way point, we cross Lake Powell, we approach KTEX from the SW near Dove Creek VORTAC (DVC) and enter the pattern for runway 27.Twin Commander ;)Henderson is a pretty active towered airport with two north-south parallel runways just south of KLASLooking east towards the Grand CanyonLike I said we ended up truing out around 220 (had sort of a quartering crosswind-tailwind all the way there)I think this was leaving Page areaThe topography is quite beautiful!130ish miles out one can barely make out the RockiesI ran into this high overcast layer casting a huge shadow on the mountains to the west - thought it was prettyNear DVCNow you can really see emAirport in sight and we begin our descent. The sectional says RP 9 which means right hand traffic pattern for runway 09. We're using 27 therefore it's a left hand pattern for runway 27. We enter on the 45I found there to be some solid downdrafts in the area and stayed pretty high. We were able to land without any major issues - hard to tell but its about 3 whites and a red)Welcome to Telluride! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
Yesterday at 11:20 AM1 day Amazing photos - I didnt think XP12 would look that good, though I wonder how much of that is the payware addons you have. That cockpit looks so good!In your opinion, which does Vegas at night better - MSFS or XP12? MSI Aegis R | Intel i7-14700F | NVIDIA RTX 4060 | 1TB NVMe | 32GB RAM | Windows 11
