Friday at 02:35 PM4 days Good afternoon,I am noticing more and more these days that some of the great ai repainters are only doing repaints in specific models like AIG (mostly) and some FSP.For someone that uses FS2004 mostly, trying to get repaints of new airlines liveries for models such as the FSP 787 even the FSP A350 is getting more and more difficult. They are mostly UTT or AIG.I notice that when a new model comes out, a lot of repainters just start doing only repaints for that model and forget about other older models, it feels like some flightsim communities are being forgotten, which then doens't make it feel like that much of a community. I know it may be time consuming, but if they just did them for FSX in DDS, I and I'm sure many people, can easily to BMP from DDS for FS2004, as I have been doing for years. We don't all have MSFS 2024 and have thousands of £s or $s to spend on a new simulator and all the addons and aircraft. There are still a few good repainters out there that do some new livery repaints for older models but not all. It's a shame, as I feel like I have no choice but to save up get MSFS 2024 now. I don't like how to spot view works in MSFS 2024 with it floating all over the place, I prefer a fixed spot view like the old FS2004.If anyone can let me know if there is a way to have a fixed external spot view in MSFS2024, then I may be more inclined to buy it!I look forwrad to any repleis.Kind regardsGavin Moss Edited Friday at 02:36 PM4 days by gavi25
Friday at 10:17 PM4 days The majority of painters are painting on the models that are currently most widely used even if most of them are between 2-15+ years old. They aren't painting on the old models that have been replaced 2 or 3 times already because why would they? No one is forcing anyone to move to MSFS2024, most AI models and paints will work from FSX right through to MSFS2020. I know personally moving from P3d and also MSFS2020 to 2024 that I lost quite a few AI models that haven't been converted and I haven't seen anyone complaining about it even when the majority of simmers are using 2024, it's just the way it is as it's that much better overall. Just my 2 cents anyways. As for a lack of spot views etc. It's just different than what you are used to. The camera system in 2020 and 2024, you just get used to using it. Personally I use the drone cam connected to a spare PS4 controller all of my spotting and it's awesome, far better than what I ever had from FS9 through every P3d. There are other options as well with a selection of different camera addons many offering the ability to cycle through AI aircraft etc. i7-13700KF, 64gb DDR5 6000, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
Sunday at 10:28 AM2 days Gavin,I don't fully understand your issue because including any new AI aircraft, together with their deviating model(s), related paint(s) etc. in your FS2004's "Aircraft" folder and finally getting them to perform their AI flights, should in my mind not be anything like a real problem. E.g. I have quite a few of the same active AI aircraft types but with different models, paints, etc. and they all perform without problems. This even also applies to a number of my flyable aircraft.Regards and long live FS2004.Hans
