April 23, 200719 yr HelloI have searched the forum over for an answer to this but have found nothing. If I open a pop up panel while in the VC and then switch the views around and come back to the VC the pop up panel dissapears. Is there a way to keep the pop up panel open when switching views and coming back to the VC?thanksM
April 23, 200719 yr Commercial Member Off hand, I can think of a crude method. However, the problem is that you would need to know if the VC is open.I recall reading that in FS9 you can read if the VC is open, but that functionality has not been carried over to FSX, which it seems would for most of us defeat the purpose of even doing it.Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, or if there is an easier way of doing it.-Bryan B. April 24, 200719 yr Hi BryanThanks for replying. I am not sure if I am following you when you say the VC is "open" Basically I had to create a pop up window to hold a DME gauge because the panel designer created a very limited amount "holes" for instruments to fit into and I can't add the gauge directly to the VC... ugh. April 24, 200719 yr Commercial Member By 'open' I simply meant that you were in the VC cockpit.Adding gauges to a VC can be tricky: it depends how the VC was created to a large degree. You might want to try placing your gauge directly over another gauge in the VC... that's about the only way you can add gauges to a VC.That's what I do when I want to add a hidden clickspot to a VC to open one of my panels.Cheers,Bryan B. April 24, 200719 yr There is no place I can add the DME gauge directly on the VC since all of the panel "holes" are being used by needed instruments. I created a pop up panel Shift+5 that has the DME readout. When I toggle through the views the pop up panel is gone in the VC and I have to reopen it every time which gets old and was just wondering if there was a way to avoid that.
April 24, 200719 yr Author Moderator The only way I know would be to create a small "hidden gauge" that will store a value indicating whether the popup has been activated. When switching away from the VC and then back, the "hidden gauge" would trigger the popup to open again if the variable stored was "true."
