May 14, 200224 yr Yup...it's called using Squawkbox (freeware) on the VATSIM network (also free). Unlike MS Zone, instead of just a bunch of people flying around in the same space, there are other people on the network with Pro Controller clients who are [supposed to] abide by real and proper ATC procedures. Using Roger Wilco (nagware) and a headset, you can communicate with the real-person controllers. They do have you fly STARs and SIDs. And they tend to dislike it when you don't have charts, as 99.5% are readily available on the net (US Terminal Procedure Charts anyways). You'll find, like anythnig else, some sectors and some controllers are better than others. May 14, 200224 yr Unfortunately, if you fly in an area that is without a controller, you're on your own. Plus, if you fly late at night, there are very few controllers on. The weekends are fine, but otherwise, you're better off with the default ATC.
May 14, 200224 yr In that case, it's nice to have RC as a back-up to VATSIM for those lonely areas. :-lol
May 15, 200224 yr This Vox ATC sounds pretty interesting:http://www.internalworkings.com/Has anyone tried the beta?
