January 16, 200719 yr Guys, I want to use this program to look at a Bgl file, but the readme does not indicate the proper syntax for using the program. To save myself some possible headaches, do I run the program and follow prompts, or run the program from a command line, or ??Thanks for your help and info. Ken
January 16, 200719 yr This is a windows program. Just open it in Windows and use File - Open to read an FSX bgl file, then use File - Disassemble to create the xml file. Edit: It will also pull out and save any mdl files in the bgl. Very useful for creating sim objects.
January 16, 200719 yr Thanks, your prompt reply is very much appreciated. I'm looking forward to using this program. Ken
January 16, 200719 yr Hello Ken,BGLAnalyzeX does not work in the same manner as the FS 9 version. From the "Readme":Both programs have been converted to console programs, so you can either start them from a DOS window or you can just drop the name of a bgl file on to the name of the program in Explorer. So, the proper syntax, like all console applications, would be:executable_name file_nameBut, drag-and-drop is really much simpler and quicker.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
January 16, 200719 yr Author There is a switch. the full syntax is:BglAnalyzeX.exe input_file_name [output_file_name] [-fs9]where:input_file_name is an FSX format scenery bgl fileoutput_file_name is an optional file name for the dissaembled output. If not provided the input_file_name is used with the extension.xml-fs9 is an optional switch which causes any xml elements which are FSX-unique to be commented-out in the output file. scott s..
