January 22, 200323 yr Can someone explain what the differences between FLY2K and FLYII? Also where can I get a copy of FLYII?Thanks
January 23, 200323 yr I just upgraded from Fly2k to FlyII.. if you like Fly2k, you will really like FlyII.. the visuals are much better, both the scenery and the airplane views (inside and out.. no more six-sided wheels or oversized rivets on the wings..) You get some nice new planes: a Pilatus turboprop and a double-decker Stearman. You'll have to download the various patches and install them though (see the anchored post at the top of the forum) but you will find it worth it! Unfortunately, your Terrascene files do not work.. you'll have to generate them all over again.. but they are a higher resolution.. so I guess that is worth it also. Hi-res scenery for New York, San Fran and Washington DC can be downloaded directly and is very good! I had stopped using Fly!, but am really enjoying FlyII..I bought my copy of FlyII through Amazon.com for $10 + S&H.. Bert
January 23, 200323 yr I just upgraded too. I think your machines performance will have more to say about if you should upgrade or not, than which is better. If you want to buy 2k. I have a copy I could sell ya. Taken good care of it, and used it up until 2 weeks ago. And I can offer a CD full of patches to save ya the time downloading. As for where to find Fly! II... we just had this thread not more than 2 weeks ago.http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID14
January 23, 200323 yr Author FLYII is a new incarnation of FLY!2k. But not everything what's new must always be better. Some avid FLY!2k simmers (including me) still believe that visuals were better in FLY!2k. The best way is to study many available screenshots. That should convince you one way or the other. It is purely a matter of taste. Michael J. Michael J.
