What the heck it is to me :-jumpyHad a spot landing contest at Blueash today 12 pilots involved from lic. PPL's to Students. Contest was: 1.)A 9" line painted 300 feet from the threshold2.)You had to reduce throttle abeam the line in the downwind leg, any throttle put back in added 50 points to your final score.3.)Landing short of the line added 100 points to your score.4.)100 point addition for 3 point landing5.) ALL landings must be FULL FLAPS6.) Your touchdown point was marked and measured from the line, 1 point added for every foot.7.) Your first landing is a mandatory practice run (no points), next three landings count. You are ONLY allowed go-arounds if there is a traffic conflict. They took an average of your total score, First Place average 88 feet/landing, I averaged 90 feet/landing, shoulda bounced up and down in the plane on that last one to get it down!!It was a lot of fun, FBO provided home made chili, soda etc., fun day at the airport :)Next "contest" is on April 12th, it's "Air Poker", $10.00 to enter, we fly from Blueash (ISZ) to four airports in any order, Middletown (MWO), Hamilton (HAO) and Sporty's (I69), if you time it right you can hit Sporty's in time for free hotdogs!! What you do is land at the airport, go into the FBO and draw a card from the deck, hit the next airport, draw a card, etc. etc. Once everyone gets back to Blueash you "put your cards on the table" and see who wins the poker game. First place gets 70% of the entry fee pot, 2nd place gets 20% and third gets 10%...sounds like a good one :)Think the part I'll always remember about this trophy isn't the heated competition, the moisture leaking from under my headset blinding my vision, side slipping till 50 off the ground and dropping full flaps at the last second...the one thing that will always stick out in my memory is the sound of my 6 year olds voice coming over the intercomm from the back seat saying "dad, there's the line, dad, the line you just passed it, dad, there's the line again now don't go past it to far, dad, the line again, be careful, here comes the line".I was the only one to bring my own coaching section tho!:) Here's the BIG Trophy...YIPPIEE!! :)[br

Here's what I have to say:[ol][li] Congratulations Dude!!![li] No wonder you won - you had extra weight aboard with the son (and presumably the wife)[li] Your image is wayyyyyy toooo big. Should not exceed 700 pixels in width - consider your attaboy for the award somewhat deminished by the DS for the image. :-lol[li] Good luck on the Poker run.. Those are GREAT fun![/ol]
