NASA World Wind

Featured Replies

Hi all,Just looked at the World Wind website.Looks to have great potential for scenery development.Check it out:http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/index.html:-cool

HiSounds good. Has anybody expirience how to use this tool and/or data to create photorealistic scenery for FlyII, especially Europe ?The resolution seems to much higher than all other free Landsat7 images I found on the web.Harald

yeah but for scenery creation for a simulator I personally think that the resolution you get in Europe with World Wind is still not adequate. I don't see it as a source of a 'simulator' scenery but simply an outstanding program in its own right - specially for those living in the USA. Finally managed to try the program briefly last night. The main problem has been the download which takes a long time if one doesn't have broadband.Although the website recommends installing and running bitTorrent to download World Wind I found it too slow and used one of the alternative sites (wayne.edu) and Star Downloader which was much faster.:-walksmile
