May 14, 200224 yr Will RC v.3 be compatiable with AI aircraft as far as interaction goes? I ask this because with Project AI's first release coming up, now one who wants a real enviroment will be without this realistic look at airline traffic the world over.Eric Eric
May 14, 200224 yr Commercial Member rc3 will see the ai traffic. it will give you traffic calls for the ai traffic, when appropriate (using faa guidelines for distance and altitude seperation). rc3 will not be able to control the ai traffic (we can't vector it around you). JD Read my blog
May 14, 200224 yr Hi folks,Glad to hear about AI traffic to be visible to RC3.I have noticed a problem when running a RC v2.2 adventure in FS2K2, where the AI traffic line up on the ground for the active runway but never take off. My only choice to continue the adventure has been to taxi beside the lineup to get on the active for takeoff. Without an adventure running the AI aircraft take off fine. Will this be fixed in RC3, is it another FS bug (unfixable), or am I just doing something wrong (pilot error)? Thanks,Dave Logan
May 14, 200224 yr This happens because when you start the adv no more instructions are passed to the ai a/c. ie. If ai was told to taxi out to the active then thats what they will do & no further. Not an issue in V3.
May 14, 200224 yr Commercial Member it is a "feature" in fs2002, that ai traffic become zombies when an adventure is started. whatever the ai plane's last instruction, is what it does until the adventure endsthis is not an issue in v3, they do whatever they are told by the fs2002 controllers. you just have to mind the rcv3 controllers :-lol JD Read my blog
May 14, 200224 yr Well jd, I have a feeling the RC controllers are a tad more competent than the FS controllers so we'd better mind them.[;-)]
May 15, 200224 yr Thanks everyone. The more I hear about RC3 the more excited I get. I'll try to wait patiently. Any need for new beta testers?Dave
May 17, 200224 yr hi allRC3 sounds like it could go in the " ground breaking" catogory.I,m getting a bit bored with the MS ATC.Don't get me wrong, it was a great addition to fs2002 but, after all these months, its getting too predictable hearing the same few voices uttering the same commands. My flight last night into SION....ATC: descend to 8000ftMe : but there is big scary mountains at 10000 feet ahead :-eekATC: Descend to 8000ft or were not playing anymore x(Just a couple of point about RC3If i,m at the holding point for takeoff and a AI aircraft is landing will I be told to hold and by whom?.I,m landing, will the AI aircraft be told to hold for me?.Will RC3 and MS ATC work at the same time?.Exiting times aheadall the bestJohnPS just wanted to say I do not want to beta tester :)

May 17, 200224 yr Hi JDThanks for the ReplyMy reason for asking was to see if the MS AI aircraft will be "aware" of my aircraft when flying using RC3, and will it give the commands to its AI aircraft as it does at the moment.all the bestJohn
