1. is the interface easy to use? or does it take two hands and multiple fingers to select the options/menus, etc - if i recall from earlier version you had to do ctrl+shift+whatever - how can i do that and try to fly a big huge jet at the same time if im messing with this kinda fiddly stuff?2. does it fix the ai traffic from over running you? - i had asked a previous question about ai and the response was it will tell me when there to close thats it? - a little more detail would be greatthanksciao!Brian S

Ciao!

The interface is quite simple and fully configurable. You can set it up for single key presses, or ctrl shift keypresses, what ever you like. It also works well with voice recognition. I completely control RC with only my voice. As for AI traffic, we have no control over them.. RC does know where they are and will issue them to you as traffic in the air, not on the ground.Larry

Hi Brian,>1. is the interface easy to use? or does it take two hands >and multiple fingers to select the options/menus, etc - if i >recall from earlier version you had to do >ctrl+shift+whatever - how can i do that and try to fly a big >huge jet at the same time if im messing with this kinda >fiddly stuff? By default the menu uses keys 1-9 without any shift or ctrl or whatever. To select option 1 from the menu, press 1. You can also change the default key assignments if they conflict with some other program you're using. Some people are using voice recognition software to do away with keystrokes entirely.>2. does it fix the ai traffic from over running you? - i had >asked a previous question about ai and the response was it >will tell me when there to close thats it? - a little more >detail would be great RC has no way of controlling ai traffic.Sidney Schwartz [KPDX]Horizon Pilot--flight plans and scenery for FS2002http://sidneyschwartz.homestead.com/index.htmlhttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

1) simple as pressing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0. of course you can change those keys to be cs1, cs2, cs3... if you want.2) covered many times. i can't vector ai traffic. i will give you traffic advisories if any ai plane comes within the parameters which will prompt a traffic advisory. you will get random vectors for traffic, but you will never see that traffic. as in the real world traffic vectors happen in excess of 30 miles. if you need a vector for a plane 5 miles and closing, the controller is having a bad day :-lol

JD,If your flying a 777 and the traffic is 5 miles and closing :-eek the pilot is having a bad day too! ;(8 Gary

"is the interface easy to use?"IMHO it is extremely easy to use. The hardest part is reading and digesting the totally complete manual (which you can download from the Wilco site). After reading this manual I thought my first experience would be difficult but it's just as easy as using the FSATC program. It comes with several excellent tutorals and that makes the learning experience much easier. I think every serious flight simmer should have this program. The ATC chatter enroute is really great too. Get it!Jim

A bad day that's about to get alot worse :-lol One AI issue I don't know if everyone's thought through thoroughly:There'll be much talk and countless requests, for future Vs of RC to actually seperate from FS AI. Ground and in the air. You all know, if that were possible we're surly have done it.Keep in mind, the results (assuming we can pull it off someday), though realistic might disappoint some, especially while airborne. Why? If RC controls the way I control at ZME, you'll never see your traffic.I had a crabby Citation driver at work some time ago, respond to my "...fly heading XXX for traffic" with "Where's my traffic?! I don't see anyone!". I responded, "That's the idea". And, isn't that the idea? My goodness, you get chewed out for saving a guy's life!Keep in mind the close distance you have to be to AI traffic, before you actually see an airplane. If an enroute controller begins control action at between 50-80m's apart, he's on time. Between 30-50m's apart, he's feeling sharp that day. Inside 30m's, he's late! We're talking HOT closure rates folks! So shall it be in RCvX. You'd continue to get xfic calls to those at minimum separation altitudes, but if we get to the point where we're actually moving you for FS AI... well, we could give you the 'change altitude' option too I guess. You'd see the xfic above/below you. Who knows, maybe we'll move the OTHER guy every now/then.nevermind...
