September 26, 200421 yr There is one remark about RC: how can I control the volume of the RC controller
September 26, 200421 yr Commercial Member the rc voices are constant. the volume slider in fs does nothing to the rc audio.the best thing to do, is adjust the volume on your sound card, so that rc sounds about right. then use the volume sliders in fs to adjust eh environment, nav, engines, etcjd JD Read my blog
January 3, 200620 yr My problem is that the background radio chatter is really loud, and the real atc voice volume is low. I end up turning the volume down so as to not get blown away by the radio chatter, then when the controller starts talking I have to turn it up temporarily. Drives me nuts. Any way to even out the volumes on these?? Matt Salo - Minneapolis, MN, USA (KMSP & KFCM) - My Flight Blog * PP-ASEL / 1981 C172P & 1982 C172P * Virtual Pilots Association
January 3, 200620 yr Commercial Member are you referring to the canned chatter? those were made at various levels, by various individuals, over the past 5 years. i guess we could go through and even out those volumes, but i see the end of canned chatter in v5.and is the real atc voice the rc voice? or are you referring to ms atc? you can turn ms atc chatter up on the options menu in fs.jd JD Read my blog
January 3, 200620 yr "but i see the end of canned chatter in v5." Que ?Ye Gods, JD, lets get used to and enjoy v4 before you start worrying about v5 :-lolhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
January 3, 200620 yr I used the canned chatter in the beginning but not anymore. If you have your AI at a good percentage the AI chatter is more than enough for me and is more realistic anyway.

Yeah, was referring to the canned chatter. >>and is the real atc voice the rc voice? or are you referring>to ms atc? you can turn ms atc chatter up on the options menu>in fs.>referring to rc voice. RC voice is much lower in volume compared to the canned chatter. I keep having to turn the volume up and down. I think I'll bump up my traffic and kill the canned chatter. I am just about to purchase Traffic 2005. Matt Salo - Minneapolis, MN, USA (KMSP & KFCM) - My Flight Blog * PP-ASEL / 1981 C172P & 1982 C172P * Virtual Pilots Association
January 4, 200620 yr That's what I have done...run Traffic 2005 at 50% and there is plenty of RC - AI chatter...side issue, I find running Traffic 2005 at anything over about 80% swamps a lot of the medium sized International airports like my home field of Glasgow EGPF.Another idea is to go online (if you have Broadband i.e. unlimited time online)to some of the "live ATC" sites and have that playing in the background...you can use your player's volume control to suit yourself...my personal favourite is atcbox.com where you have a choice of numerous controllers around the Schiphol area to listen to.Hope this helps :-beerchug
