Hi allI have heard so much about Radar Contact in other forums and have had it with MS ATC so decided to look into this forum and read a few reviews around, I have decided to buy RC but reading through a few post i see talk about a V4, is it in my intrest to buy V3 now and if so would there be an extra charge to upgrade to V4 or just CD and shipping costsThanks Heath

I've also been sitting on the fence regarding the purchase of Radar Contact...basically I've been wondering the same thing as Heath.Regards,ScottKJMS

there are pros and cons in both directions. if you get it now, you're going to be ahead of the game, and know radar contact before version 4 comes outon the other hand, if you buy it now, and it comes out in 6 months, you're going to pay once for v3, and then an upgrade for v4 when it comes out. the upgrade is always less than full price.when is v4, i certainly hoped it would have been ready for the end of last year. just too many challenges on dealing with ai. i think i'm close with dealing with those issueswhat's left to do? profile descent, a ton of recording by a bunch of people, sound editing, final testing, and the manual.i have some ideas on how to deal with this issue of between release - itis. i'll share with you when i know somethingjd

>on the other hand, if you buy it now, and it comes out in 6>months, you're going to pay once for v3, and then an upgradeYou say six months. Does this mean that January is out of question and it will take several months? Even more than six months possible?

"release - itis" LOL, I guess you could say that I have that. I've recommended RC to several people the past few months but I've also recommended that they wait for version 4.Will

I would get v3 now if you don't mind the price. I think RC is essential - MSFS ATC's "vecter'em to death" approach is just plain irritating. And AI doesn't get in my way very often because I don't feel the need to have 100% AI.If you plan on waiting for V4 then you may be waiting for a long time (even though I'm sure it will be worth the wait - but why wait?)just my US$0.02

i don't know when it will be ready. there is a ton of stuff to do, none of which is programming.and this isn't a project, in the sense that i have to have it done by some date. doug coined the phrase "quality not calendar" and i live by it everyday.i sympathize, i know what you are saying and going through. there are things that i'm waiting for to be released. in the past, programs have been released on a certain date, and then patched, and patched and then patched.i don't like it, you wouldn't like it, and whatever respect we've garnered from quality software would be out the window, never to be regained again.don't know what else to sayjd

Thanks for the feedback all, Its great to see you will not push something out the door until your happy with it. I will grab V3 as soon as i can, seems im missing out on something without it :-)Heath

I had the first RC versions in FS2000 and enjoyed it immensely.Time for me to get off the fence with credit card in hand :-)Regards,ScottKJMS
