it is human voices talking to you and the ai. synthesized voices suck.if you want to record a set of controller phrases, and we're able to process them, you'll have all your v4 questions answered. (get my drift?)jd

oh well. it's like i told the beta testers. if you have time to fly, you have time to record.there are absolutely no synthetic voices in v1.x, v2.x, v3.x, v4.x - never had them, never will (until they get a WHOLE lot better). i mean how hard is it to say "altimeter"jd

It always helps to have as many voices as possible to make it all that much better.

What are we at in voices? And why are alot of people not offering isn't all because of busy schedules?

Joe,It took me 3-4 hours to record a controller set and that included several attempts at some instructions. The software makes it very straight-forward and after a while you really get into the groove.If I added up the time I spent on my last 4 flights it would probably exceed the time I spent recording. The difference is I have nothing to show for those four flights except four entries in my log whereas thousands of pilots who buy v4 can listen to my dulcet tones for hours :7Imagine the fun you could have trying to pronounce 'Birmingham' or 'altimeter' properly? ;-)Cheers,

So how many voices are still needed before the v4 is packaged for shipping?

when everything is ready, we release with what we have. i'm not delaying release on people recording. i would have thought the incentive to play with v4 prior to release would have generated more volunteers. jd

Even with the version at free charge people say no. Will the program be sent out to me after I record and am accepted?

Joe,If you record a sample set and that passes our strict quality control then you will be invited to record a full controller or pilot set.The controller set requires the highest quality voices as commands will be issued to pilots who's first language may not be English. Speed and clarity of enunciation are very important.Alternatively you could record a pilot set which allows those with less than perfect enunciation to contribute to Radar Contact v4.Cheers,
