there were several sets of pilots for v3. but you had to do some fancy renaming. so let's say 6 pilotsthere were 13 controllerscurrently in v4 there are 9 pilots, with several more in the pipelinethere are 16 controllers with another 4 or 5 in the pipeline.jd

Thanks JDThe resaon I asked is because I was reading the thread about providing voice sets. I kind of like the idea, but what got me was the comment about not holding the release for sets in the pipeline.So my concern was is it worth devoting a day or two to doing a voice set(s) if it may not even make it into the product? (assuming the set works well that is)

In fact I am sure you will also hear this espcially if you actually compare the 2 and 3 wav files.Is it just a matter of deleting all the files? the directory? or even easier, just copying one of the other controller files into this directory?p.s. also as I figured out how to check these files, I find that I have only 12 controllers (starts with 1 John Dekker, ends with 12 Steve Lewis then jumps to 88 which is empty)

Mike,This has been covered here on a number of previous occasions but I'll run through it again.RC3 keeps its controller files in the rcv30winwood directory in a series of directories numbered (named) from 2 sequentially upwards - the upper figure depends on how many extra sets have been downloaded but is usually around 12 or 13. The directories 0 and 1, incidentally, contain the co-pilot and pilot respectively.To remove Francesco's set, you can either rename directory 5 to something outside the 2 - 12 number sequence or, if you're sure you won't use it again, just delete the whole directory. You'll then need to reinstate the numeric sequence - RC3 stops looking for controllers when it finds a gap in the directory numbering. Probably the easiest way would be to take your highest-numbered controller directory (12) and rename it as 5.The good news is that RC4 automates this process for you, allowing you to select or deselect pilots and controllers by a simple mouse click.Pete

13 controllers? In my RC3 I can hear maximum 3-4! (including the one downloaded). What am I missing? Thank you

You don't really give much information to go on but one place to check would be your rcv30winwood directory. You should have a series of directories numbered from 2 consecutively upwards to somewhere between 10 and 13 depending on extra sets downloaded. If you only have a few of these directories or there is a gap in the numbering, this might explain why RC is only selecting a few controllers.Pete

Thanks Pete, I have all the folders under the Winwood one. Maybe I'm wrong, because some of the voices are quite similar to each other and while I fly I can't distinguish them very well.
