No Text in ADVDSP

Hi there,Sorry to hear you are still having problems. I tried to reproduce the problem of the text disappearing when I assigned and used the fsuipc hotkey but couldn't.A couple of things which might help narrow the problem down.First check for any updates to FSUIPC or advdisplay on http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlThe latest fsuipc version is 5.1, you mention using 5.0 (the latest advdisplay is 2.14)When you open advdisplay what options do you enable apart from multiline only (eg Dock, lock position, hide when empty)? If you could let me know the exact steps I can try again to duplicate the problem. If you could, try a flight using RC4 but keeping advdisplay visible throughout. Do the menus disappear at all when doing this?Is anything other than RC writing text in the advdisplay window (FS2Crew, ASVE)?As for the sound, from what you say this was okay when using RC3.1, ASVE and FS2Crew together. Is that correct? Does the problem now occur when more than one addon is trying to play sounds at the same time (eg RC4 and FS2Crew both trying to talk to you together) or is it also a problem when just an RC voice is playing. All the best,John

Hi John, I got the latest FSUIPC and ADVDSP and the text is showing.I still have to have ADVDSP open before I load RC or no text will show. I only have multiline checked as I use the FSUIPC to close thewindow when I don't need it. That window eats my FPS up. FS2Crew doesnot have a lot of voice sounds going on unless you push a button to get it to repond to you.I have not tried a flight from begining to end with it yet but loadedeverything I use when I fly and put RC through some steps before T/Oand things seem ok now. I'll keep you posted after my first flight. Thanks for the help.

Fingers Crossed. The advdisplay window shouldn't have much effect on framerate. Could be worth trying it docked if you don't already to see if that changes things. All the best,John

Depending on video settings I found advdisp can eat up one or two frames. I have a hot key set in FSUIPC to hide it when ground taxiing and need full view and not tax frame rates.BTW I went back to v2.123 and it still functioned the same so I'm going back to 2.14 (with FSUIPC 3.51).I use it docked usually upper left or right so it doesn't block the panel.Regards again.

Well guy's I tried a flight today and everythhing was fine exceptfor 1 glich. I docked Advdsp window and when ASV updated in knockedthe text out of the window. I restarted RC and opened the window again but didn't dock it and that was the end of that problem. The way my luck has been going I was on my initial approach into MIA andvisitors dropped by so I had to cancel the flight.lol Think it's good to go now. Thanks for all the help.

>visitors dropped by so I had to cancel the flight.lol :-lol I sympathize. I'm sure my wife's psychic. She always seems to pick the moment I'm on short final to come in and ask 'have you got a minute'!All the best,John

There is an option in ASVe not to report updates it text format as you encounter new reporting stations along your route. This is mentioned in the RC4 manual.I left in on to test and I'm not seeing any problem but I turned it off to keep things simple.Be sure Multi-Line is selected in the drop down properties for advdisplay by right clicking in the window and checking it BEFORE you dock it.

Yea, I reflew my flight that was so rudely interupted. Everythingis working fine now. I got a good butt chewing when I got down thatI can't figure out. I got busted for making too many deviations forweather which I don't recall. I'm finding it hard to keep my airspeed down during arrival as it seems ATC is giving me decentsvery close to my FAF and trying to get down in time without speedingis hard to do. I'll get used to it though.Happy Holidays and thanks for the help.
