OK.. I skimmed the manual... installed it.. and took a quick flight from KGKY (Arlington) to Waco (KACT). I have flown this in real life.. and its a short hop. So Picked this. This is very very preliminary observation.. so take it in that perspective. First impression never theless.1. I love it.. very positive feeling and glad I bought it...and now, I need to look at all the functionality and features.2. KGKY is non towered airport (it doesn't have a control tower..)... but it looked like it was treating it as a towered airport. Hmmm.. I am not sure yet. I need to check that out again.3. When I was positioning and holding on RW35. The tower adviced me that I was two in line... but I didn't see any other aircraft.4. I had the default on as well (I later turned it off).. and that had more chatter..in fact.. I left that on for a while to mix in with RCv4... and that was not too bad an experience. there was fluent controller for everyone else.. and a slow poke ATC controller for me. :)5. I did not find the slow speak that annoying as I had thought I would find it.. In fact.. it helped me.. I am a little slow myself. ;) But it could have been done with a faster pace. (Is there a way to run the sound files a tad faster like 20%? That might fix it.6. I blew my approach at Waco and natuarally went missed. and then I said..I wanted to try again.. and this time he vectored me around..but I felt I was going a little too further away..well anyway.. at that point I asked for visual.. and he cleared me for visual. I quickly changed my mind and requested the ILS.. and he cleared me for the ILS and asked me to intercept the vector. But the problem is.. I was in no position to intercept the vector...I was expecting to be radar vectored into position for intercepting the vector.7. I did not see Cirrus in the list of call signs (airline companies) so I used CESSNA instead of the Cirrus that I was flying...Oh..well.. I need to play around with this... and once again.. I LIKIE very much. I feel, like I have a new Flight Sim.If you are a serious Flight simmer or a real world Pilot (VFR or IFR)..then this would be valuable. but if you are a casual simmer... the default is plenty enough.Thanks.Manny

Hi Manny,Glad you like it :-)4 As far as the amount of chatter you hear, particularly enroute, it might increase if you go to the technical tab in fsuipc (main fs toolbar, modules... fsuipc) and set the 'limit tcas range' in the bottom right corner to 0 (unlimited). This should make RC aware of planes further from you (the default is 40 miles).6 As jd said, be patient. RC will bring you back in eventually! If you ask for an iap approach RC assumes youi have the chart and know how to fly it without assistance ;-)All the best,John

If you ask for an iap approach RC assumes youi have the chart and know how to fly it without assistanceOh yeah.. I understand that. But I was on the other end of the runway...flying away from the airport..when he cleared me for the approach and asked me to contact tower.so IAP approach means... non vector..full approach where I have to navigate to the IAF? Is that how its done in real life? If thats the case then I have no issue.I thought I had requested vector to final...when i picked what I picked.Hmm.. OK I need to do that again.:)
