December 26, 200520 yr A bit mystified. My flight plan EGJJ to EGBJ: via ORTAC, SAM (VOR), PEPIS, INLAK, MALBY. Plane: PMDG 1900D, Crz FL120.All went well at EGLL, ORTAC and SAM; heard the dings, flew towards PEPIS, which showed on the AdvDisp. Distance to go reduced gradually to zero, overflew PEPIS, but no ding, no reset of the AdvDisp. Turned round and crossed the waypoint again, zero miles, but still PEPIS not acknowledged. So had to fly on, and got shouted at for being off-course. I terminated IFR and flew without ATC to EGBJ.Question: Why didn't PEPIS get acknowledged, when it showed up OK on the AdvDisp? Is there something I should have done but didn't?Don Hunt
December 26, 200520 yr Hi Don,Short answer, I don't know I'm afraid - maybe someone else has an idea.Do remember that there is a menu option to request direct to a waypint further along the plan. Can be useful in a situation like this. All the best,John
December 26, 200520 yr I looked for that option, but it wasn't available: nearer than 40 from the destination, maybe? Just noticed edit necessary to my first post: "All went well at EGJJ..."Don Hunt
December 26, 200520 yr Slim chance but was there a crossing restriction involved? I usually :) make them but I recall reading in posts here it is possible possibly not to get credit in an instance of vectoring and you go around until you are at the correct altitude. Maybe the same logic applies to crediting here even if not being vectored?Don't know, just asking.
December 26, 200520 yr Commercial Member send me the .pln, i'll take a gander at itjd JD Read my blog
December 26, 200520 yr OK, I'll do that (attach it to an email). But the funny thing is now that I've just flown the reverse route, same waypoints, and PEPIS behaved flawlessly!! What do you make of that?Best wishesDon HuntGloucestershire, UK
