December 29, 200520 yr I have finally got RC4 and the key within a few hours (good thank you)One problem I encountered was that I can't select engines anymore with e 1 e 2 or e 12 with advdisp and RC active. I have fix hardware acceleration enabled in FSUIPC and that used to work. Also in addition to advdisp window I get a big green multiline window (like the default ATIS) with garbage characters and some words from advdisp window. I could close it but I suppose it's not to show up at all.
December 29, 200520 yr Hi there,To solve the problem with the engines go to the 'keyboard' page of RC and reassign menu selections 1 to 5. (I have RC set to use ctrl shift 1, ctrl shift 2 etc.)To get rid of the green window right click on advdisplay and make sure mulitiline only is checked. Then right click on the green window and close it.It shouldn't appear if you start advdisplay before you start RC.All the best,John

All the proper info shows up as it should in ADV display. Nifty! Until.....I hit 2 for the WX report, and that #### green bar shows up with info from the WX report.I click on it, select close. It goes awaySelect 1 for clearance, and again...It's baaack!Whenever it shows up, it really slows response time down as well.I'm running FSUIPC 3.52 and ADVDisplay 2.14 Any ideas?
December 30, 200520 yr Try saving your default flight with Adv Display checked on and see what happens...
December 30, 200520 yr >Try saving your default flight with Adv Display checked on>and see what happens...>>Didn't seem to help..same issue. As a side note, the weather reports says the call letters then FS goes into pause mode (as if I had hit P)
December 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member make sure multiline only is selected in the advdisp optionsyou don't have "display text" check on the general options screen do you?if so, uncheck itjd JD Read my blog
December 30, 200520 yr >make sure multiline only is selected in the advdisp options>>you don't have "display text" check on the general options>screen do you?>>if so, uncheck it>>jdMultiline only is selected, otherwise it just prints out whatever the ATIS reports in the ADVDISPI'll have to check once I get home on the display text.Your not talking about under the ATC options are you, because I have all of those unchecked?
December 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member no general options rc. that "display text" is for hearing impariedjd JD Read my blog

(I have RC set>to use ctrl shift 1, ctrl shift 2 etc.)>If possible I would like to be able to use a single key for controlling ATC. Is there no other way? Also 1 to 5 can it not as well be 1 to 3 if you fly planes with three engines as most?
December 31, 200520 yr Author >no general options rc. that "display text" is for hearing>imparied>I suppose "display text" displays what ATC tells you in text (as is the case with default ATC). I'm not hearing impaired but find i difficult to here eberything that is said and out keep it on memory.Of course that's more realistic. I think I have heard that in real life the ATC communication is the most difficult aspect of the flight. Is it Possible to see instructions in text by a keypress that toggles it on and off. I did so with the default ATC.
December 31, 200520 yr Commercial Member single keystrokes are sort of hard to find, that aren't already defined for something else.you could use ctrl-shift-n where n is 1 to 5. and then assign different joystick/yoke buttons to send ctrl-shift-njd JD Read my blog
December 31, 200520 yr Commercial Member sorry, display text was specifically for the hearing impaired.you know you can ask for a repeat of what was said, by default pressing ctrl-shift-/of course pilot-autoreply has to be off on the general options pagejd JD Read my blog
