December 30, 200520 yr Just finished another great flight with RC4 and noticed a small issue. I was told to cross 40 miles from LAX vor at 7000. Well I'm 60 miles out and decide to cruise at my current altitude of 9000 until I'm closer to 40 and then begin a descent down to meet the crossing restriction. No problem.Well soon after these instructions I was told to contact LA Center. So I did and the pilot told center we were at 7000 feet when we were still at 9000. I eventually descended down meeting my restriction. This caused no issues or problems just making you aware of small things I'm seeing.Sean Sean Green

December 30, 200520 yr Author Come to think of it I noticed one other thing on a flight yesterday which as the other is no big deal but just bring it to your attention. I was flying into my destination when the approach controller told me to expect vectors for ILS rwy 14. Well this airport does not have an ILS to rwy 14 only a VOR-GPS approach. I thought is was going to ask me to select my arrival method.I called for an IAP and proceeded with the GPS approach. Is this normal when there is no ILS approach?I have included the plan file in text format if you want to look at it. But the weather may not be favoring RWY14 so you may end up different if you fly it.Sean Sean Green
December 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member indeed. no ils on 14. no ils at all. are you sure you heard ils.iap is the way to go for sure here.jd JD Read my blog
December 30, 200520 yr Author I'll fly this flight again for the ILS problem today just to verify. Maybe I did misunderstand the controller.Sean Sean Green
December 30, 200520 yr Hi Sean,If the RC controller does say it's an ils check in the menu. It should tell you the frequency so you can see if the ils is actually there in the simulator. Maybe there's one in the scenery files somewhere. All the best,John
