January 27, 200620 yr Hello,I have set up and have been successfully using RC4 via WideFS. Until today!Having done some sorting of AFCAD files, basically removing duplicates and tweaking some with minor errors, I ran the Rebuild Scenery Update after running makerwys on the main pc. makerwys.exe ran as it has before, it only picked up 71 airports and 151 runways. I am certain that last time it found around 2500 airports.I first spotted the problem when flying out of Jersey and there was no ATIS available only FSS.What I have established is that makerwys.exe searches through all the default airports and my Addon Scenery File. In the text file it creates, only the 71 airports it 'captures' show any detail, all the rest are one line of information. Only the 71 are listed in the csv file and they are the ones showing detail in the text file.It is likely in doing my housework on the AFCAD's I have caused the problem but cannot determine how. I have checked the forum for this question but cannot find evidence of this problem with anyone else. Apologies if the question has been raised already.I love the product by the way.BestDave
January 27, 200620 yr I believe makerunways uses the scenery.cfg file. After any .bgl housekeeping run FS9 to update the scenery index (scenery.cfg).In your main FS9 folder you will find a file called runways.txt. This is a text file log of where makerunways has searched to create its files. In my case it shows all the folders I have placed scenery in including AFCADs regardless of whether they were in the FS9 folder or elsewhere as long as the path was in the scenery index.
January 27, 200620 yr Hi Dave,Check out my answer to a similar problem here, it may be relevant:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=16311&page=All the best,John
January 27, 200620 yr Thank you for your quick responses Johhn & Ron, much appreciated.I will start the task of sorting out the problem following your advice, I will report back so the solution can be noted.BestDave
January 27, 200620 yr Okay,I noted the suggestion made by yourself John, and followed the procedure put forward by Ray Barnard of Hampshire UK (same here Ray), by following the link you provided. I found a problem AFCAD in area 3, which is amazing. Normally when I embark on this kind of exercise it is the last area I look in that has the problem! Anyway, I removed the AFCAD, which I think is a FS2002 type, ran FS9 to compile the scenery.cfg file and bingo 25,000 airports.Thank you very much to John, Ron and of course Ray.BTW, sorry to see the moans in the forum about the product. It is so far an away better than the FS9 ATC and any other product I know about, and the support is outstanding.BestDave
