Emergency Squawl Code

Featured Replies

HiAlong with radar contact I use FSPassengers which is able to simulate many different failures in flight. With FSPassengers you have to declare 7700 in an emergency yet if I change this whilst using radar contact I get a message from rc to verify my squawk code, and then I get penalised by FSpassengers for not declaring the cprrect squawk code. Any chance to change this is V5 so that you are asked to squawk 7700.Thanks

did you declare an emergency via the menus?jd

Yes I did declare and emergency both in Radar Contact and in FSPassengers.

As a controller, I'd never ask or tell you to do anything let alone change a becon code (the pilot's driving at this point; he tells me), but this is on the v5 list in as far as we'll turn off the RC Watch Dog for codes if you declare an E! within RC.

JD,I have raised this before. If you have (simulate) a radio failure (transmitter), RC does not recognise 7600 and apparently 7700 (and 7500?)Maybe V5 should allow selction and recognition of the appropriate emergency code first, then (as in the real world) once the crew have the situation under control, go to the menus to advise the type of emergency. Although with 7600 that will be difficult as the ATC squawk ident if recieving method is cumbersome in the RW let alone try to program it into FS.NeilYPAD
