Not saving RCD file

Featured Replies

JD,I'm confused by your comment."not sure the .rcd will help with that plane. i don't think you can load a .rcd with that plane, since the plane starts up cold, and none of it's settings are captured in the .flt or the .rcd files"As your RCV4 manual lists the PMDG 747-400 as being one of the add-on's that has been tested with RC version 4. Also, I have 2 other .rcd files for that flight that were created and have no problems.Last night I ran a search on all the drives in my computer for *.rcd files. There were no files for the 747KDFWKSAN 4, 5, 6 found. This would mean that it didn't even create those .rcd files. So, the directory path does not seem to be an issue.Regards.Bill

just as the radar contact co-pilot can't fly airplanes that have their own autopilot mechanisms - radar contact still works with the planeif rc isn't running, can you save a .flt with this plane, at FL330, can you come back tomorrow, and load that .flt, and everything is fine? i don't think so. i don't have that plane, but i've been told that it doesn't work.if the plane doesn't load with everything set, and operating the way it was the day before at 330, rc can't be expected to make it work. it's not really it's job to reload a plane's settings. i can only reload the rc settings and "state". it's up to fs to reload the scenery, the plane, the weather, etc.jd

JD,I'm sorry if my question up-sets you. I'm only trying to find an answer to my problem. The answer to your question below is yes. I can do exactly what you are saying and it does work with and without rc running."if rc isn't running, can you save a .flt with this plane, at FL330, can you come back tomorrow, and load that .flt, and everything is fine? i don't think so. i don't have that plane, but i've been told that it doesn't work."If you look back at my previous post where I listed the six files. The first two did create .rcd files. The second one was at FL360 and the .flt and rcd file associated with that flight work fine. No problems. For some reason I don't think we are communicating. If rc created the .rcd files for the first two flights why didn't it for the rest of them. When rc creates the .rcd files everything works fine. Also, the other flights where the .rcd files were not created. Can still be loaded and used today, 3 days after they were first created. Except as you would expect without rc running. Since there is no .rcd files. The last file is an approach into KSAN rwy 9 which have ran several times.Thank You, for staying with me to help me solve my problem.Regards.Bill

your question doesn't upset me :-)i was under the impression, that these complex planes, could not be loaded in midflight.my mistakei've learned somethingi don't know why you get 3 rcd files, and no more.follow the instructions at the top of the forum, make a .log, duplicate the problemsend me the .log, and tell me approximately where in the flight you try to save the .rcd files. i'll look in the log to see what is going on.you don't have autosave loaded, do you?jd

JD,Zipped file has been sent. Please reply to my email to let me know you received it ok.Thank YouBillNo I don't use autosave.
