April 11, 200719 yr Author Good afternoonY: as my mapped FS9 drive .... that was a mistake. It's Z.Opening the mapped FS9 drive on the Client goes directly to the contents of the main FS9 folder. The three mapped paths n the Client I have are:Flight Simulator Files on 'MAIN (Server)' (X:)Application Data on 'MAIN (Server)' (Y:)Flight Simulator 9 on 'MAIN (Server)' (Z:)The Flight Plan/Flight Simulator Files path (which is mapped to X:) shows correctly, it opens the folder, but after a second gives "Error 6 rc4 module get departure information"I put the rcs4 and 5 into my Client C: it ran the rebuild, I clicked on two "OK's" then got a Runtime Error 6 - Overflow. But I'm sure we're getting there. (Though where "there" is is anyone's guess!)Nicholas
April 11, 200719 yr Hi Nicholas,The "Error 6 rc4 module get departure information" is probably because we haven't rebuilt the scenery database correctly as yet.It does, however, suggest that RC can communicate with the server (which was the main reason to try it!)As for the Overflow that's out of my area I'm afraid. Hopefully jd will pick up on that one. What happened when you put in Z: as the path to the r5.csv file. Did you just get the 'file not found' message? All the best,John
April 11, 200719 yr Commercial Member the overflow, is because the r4.csv file isn't in the right format.can you zip up the r4.csv file and send it to me [email protected] JD Read my blog
April 12, 200719 yr Author John BPutting Z: for the file path gives a r5.csv file not found. The path is corrrect: Active Sky uses it and FSCommander. But then what do I know? I've been in over my head ever since starting to set up this network!Nicholas
April 12, 200719 yr Nicholas,On my machine I can either give Y: or Y: as the path and things work. A long shot but you might try giving Z: as the path instead of just Z:All the best,John
April 12, 200719 yr Commercial Member yes, sorry. r4.csvor it may be r5.csv on the fs machine's root directory. i think the new makerwys makes a r5.csv filejd JD Read my blog
April 17, 200719 yr Author After a behind-the-scenes exchange of mails with jd the problem has been resolved. In the process I have learnt a good bit about how networking works. Is it possible to put a price on the kind of support that we get from FS-addon developers, after we've paid out our 30 or 40 euros to buy their product. Some are non-existant, some hopeless, some scary, some act like they're doing us a favour, and some, like the guys at RC, are tireless, knowledgeable and patient.Thank you.
