Closed Runways

Featured Replies

Is there any way to tell RC that a runway is closed? We have 6/24 closed at our airport and I dont want ATC telling me to taxi and hold short runway 6. I have it closed in my AFCAD file.

that will be in v5.for now, if you are told to taxi to one of those runways, ask for a different one.jd

If you not close but delete the runway in AFCAD RC should not see it. I assume your afcad file has highest priority regarding that airport. This should not affect the visual part of the scenery and you should be safe since you are not modifying the default scenery but modifying an afcad you saved, probably af2_airport. Make a safe copy of that afcad filed elsewhere out of the scenery file libraries so you can put it back if need be.The visual scenery will remain but it will not go into RC's runway database. The makerwys.exe used by the scenery rebuild should cancel the default one since your afcad code starts with the instruction to delete all runways and taxiways. Before modification the afcad file created is a copy of the default. Try it and make sure it is not the original apxxxx.bgl getting modified. Let me know if that works. AI may continue to use it, however, where an ILS is concerned. I'm not sure about that. You may also wish to delete any open ended taxiways going into it to avoid ai taxiing to it - not sure about that but experiment.
