December 31, 200718 yr Another quick question. Now I know that this might not have anything to do with RC, but I have noticed since using it that when I am cruising at a Flight Level (say FL340) but there is a fairly large difference between STD pressure and QNH, all the AI flights seem to be cruising on the QNH pressure at high level.I was wizzing along at FL340 today (1013 set), and on my TCAS all the other aircraft were multiples of 600 and 400 feet above and below me.Is this an RC problem or some other bug which has crept in?I shouldn't complain, because at least I won't run the risk of hitting them anymore which mr. Microsoft always tried to do to me.Thanks.NeilHappy New Year!
December 31, 200718 yr RC does not control AI for flight levels enroute. It may control their heading to avoid traffic conflict (I have seen them in parallel.) On approach it controls their speed.
January 2, 200818 yr Neil,The AI don't know about local and standard pressures, or that they have to switch between the two at Transition Altitude/Transition Levels. So you'll always find them a couple of hundred feet 'off' when cruising at the flight levels. It's a FS9 thing for sure, and I'm assuming it is the same in FSX as well.Subs
