Dude I don't know mines been acting up too it crashes all the time and I get a crap load of BSODs especially in fs2002. Strangely enough it will not crash with the PSS a320 or default aircraft but it will in all the other PSS aircraft and other addon planes. I think its time for an OS and fs2002 reinstall then a a defrag. What a pain it will be to have to manually reinstall all my aircraft and AI traffic. Ai traffic will deffinetely be the worst.Andrew

hello,I just wanted to let those who live in Southern California that there is going to be an Airshow at Kral in Riverside California Tommorow Saturday March 29, 2003 near San Bernadino and fairly close to LA. BTW their is also an Antique car show at the airport. (Im talking old corvettes, cobras, model Ts or simalar)I don't know much about cars ;-) I have gone to the airshow for 3 years and its a blast. (F-14 flybys, Kc135 tanker flybys, C-17s) and all kinds of milatary aircraft and helicopters since an old airbase is within 20-30 or less miles form the airport.(March Airforce base) Not to mention old prop fighters and other restored old airplanes. The show goes from 9:00am to _____ so those of you in Long beach, San Bernadino, Santa Ana, LA, Pasadena, Van nuys and Burbank (If you live close to these cities you would make it too I didin't want to name all of Californias cities) :-) would easilly make it to KRAl.AndrewPS. hi tim,Now that I think about it I remember having simular problems back in Nascar racing 4 with my Geforce 2 I ended up buying a new mobo and that fixed the problem. I still don't know if the problem was the onboard sound.Andrew

hi, If I had any problems with my radeon I wouldent have recomended it ;-) just make sure you get the catalyst 3.2 drivers from Atis website. Btw Tim I have N2003 and havent had any problems with it or any games. It could have been a compatibility with your motherboard. I also think all new games should work with the new radeons, even the old games as I have and still play old games with my radeon. BTW Tim I have never had to do all that when changing the drivers... maybe with the old ATI graphics cards and drivers. Quite frankly I think ATI has finally brought their drivers up to par with Nvidias. I go through the same procedures for changing the drivers as I did with my old Geforce all I do I click on the newly downloaded drivers .exe and it automatically installs them with no problems. AndrewBtw Im not trying to say "oh you should have kept the ATI card" as some people just prefer nvidia over ATI or just have bad Windows instalations. OR just have a system that arent compatible for some odd reason with an ATI card. :-)

hello again,I recommend the 9500, 9500 pro and either 9700. I can no longer recommend 9000 or 9000 pro becauase although I know it would serve you well in fs2002 I can't say how it will handle FS9 I also don't think it will be able to handle FS9 with its increased I candy at 1600x1200 with all graphics sliders maxed as it can in fs2002. I also must say that the 9000 pro is very good for a budget card and has all directx 8.1 features but it will probably not be as good in the long run with games running Directx 9. So I say get a 9500 or 9700 (pro or non pro) because those have those Dx 9 features youll want in the future with Dx9 games like FS9. AndrewPS. Overclocking a video card is very easy but becareful and up the clocks by around 2-5 clocks and then run a game or 3dmark 2001 or 2003. Once you see artifacts in the picture (liitle dots or lines flashing on the screen) Back down the clocks or clock 1 or 2 clocks. Also I don't recommend you increase both clocks at the same time because once you see artifacts you won't know wheather to back down the core or the memory clock. Its hard to damage the card if you follow these instructions word for word but if you decide to over clock the card my increasing the clocks 30 clocks at a time then youll most likely have a damaged or dead card on your hands. Also most overclocking programs have a setting that if you overclock to far and your PC locks up then when you restart the card is back to stock speed. :-)

hello,My bad you can overclock the 9500 non pro but you can't overclock the 9000 non pro. At least not without some physical mods on the card and the technical "know how". Andrew

hi,you should get a Radeon 9000 pro or a Radeon 9500 pro both would do their job well I have a 9000 pro and it does its job very well. The 9500 pro is even faster and should run fs2002 and fs9 very very well. If you plan on overclocking your card make sure you get a pro version of both of these cards the non pro versions will not overclock because ATI locks their clock speeds. As for the mouse problem that happened to me tried to fix it and well.... I couldent. My advice on the Mouse is to get a new Optical mouse so youll never have a mouse ball or the mouse ball sensors fail on you again :-)AndrewPS. I think the 9000 pro has a good cost performance ratio its dirt cheap but has full Direct x 8.1 features I can run almost any game I have at 1600x1200 but fs2002 at 1280x1024 all sliders maxed.AGAIN dont get a non pro version of a a 9000 9500 or 9700 card because you won't be able to overclock. My final reccomendation 9500 pro :-)

Hi, Im finally going to upgrade my Geforce 2 mx to either a Radeon 9000 pro or a Radeon 9100 (AKA the 8500 brought back with just a new name no other improvements but still looks like a very good deal at under $100). I was wondering which one should I get since both look very good on paper and in reviews. I do plan to use fs2002 exclusively on this PC and FSCOF when it comes out. The reason Im Jumping off the nvidia waon is it seems like you get more for your money with the 9000 pro and 9100 radeon cards. for $70 you get a Directx 8.0 card with vertex shaders and everything. On Nvidias side $70 gets you a Directx 7.0 card. Which one should I get? The 9000pro is newer and has more features but a bit slower than the older Radeon 8500 chip on Benchmarks. So now Im stuck deciding to go with either a slower chip but more features or go with the faster 8500 AKA 9100?Andrew

hi, I hope so! What I really want is spacing of the aircraft on final so we dont have 5 aircraft on final 5 ft away from each other comin in for the same runway. If Atc can do that Ill be a happy camper. I can just imagine it... " AAL 227 descend and maintain 2000ft maintain no more than 200 kts on final cleared to land runway 25R" something like that :-) Im not an expert with Air traffic control terminology but I try my best.

well if you look more closely you can see that the plane got slammed by gusts twice hence the unstableness... the pilot did a good job at regaining control and climbing away.

hi, I was wondering if it was possible to use the PSS panel and sounds along with the project airbus model? However, I would still like to use the PSS flight dynamics. Over at the project airbus website it explains how you can merge the too but using their flight dynamics. The reason I want to merge the two is because with the default PSS A320 model and VC I get constant "your system has run out of available memory flight simulator will now exit" memory errors under Windows ME. thanks, Andrew

hi, Glad you sorted the problems out. Make sure you get a utility called Ai traffic mover and learn it.... Its a life saver! :-). I too got into this whole PAI traffic thing a couple months ago. I would also remove the default commercial traffic but leave the GA traffic (General Aviation) . Removing the default commercial traffic will get rid of all those fake airlines like Soar, landmark, etc. Bye Andrew

hello,Well, I finally gave up on trying to make fs2002 function reliably with 256 mb of 333mhz DDR Kingmax memory without crashing to the desktop with the old "your system has run out of memory flight simulator will now exit". I started having this problem with the PSS A320 and other highly detailed planes and panels like the PSS dash 8. The fact that I now have over 25,000 PAI and other flight plans in my traffic.bgl file probably doesent help either ;-) . Ive tried lowering my sliders a bit and no go. The only way I dont get the error is by lowering them alot and then it feels like Im using fs2000 again. So here are two possible solutions... Another stick of Kingmax 256 (since I already have 256mb of memory) that would give me.... well Im to lazy to do the math myself and I dont have a calculator near me so lets just say Id have 256mb more :-lol. Second possible solution but I dont know if it would solve my problems... a new video card with more onboard memory. I currently have a Geforce 2 mx400 with 64mb onboard SD(slow! I think the SD in SD ram stands for Slow Dumb RAM J/K ) RAM. The way I understand it once the video card uses up all of its memory it starts using my system memory for graphics and not leaving any for the other parts of fs2002. So now I guess my question is what should I do? new video card or more memory? I cant get both at the same time since its almost the end of the month and Im short on money.Thanks alot,AndrewKRAL
