  1. I use default 1.1M FSx texture size - it sems to be a good compromise for me . I have yet to figure out a way of determining (before a flight in an area) what texture sizes are available for that area. If you set the LOD for 60cm, you can see after you complete the flight whereabouts you were successful in downloading the higher res textures (via the "Manage Service Caches" programme in the TP menu)Barry

  2. DougWhat you are seeing is not autogen - but scenery placed in different places. You will possibly notice that the scenery you are seeing is a little like that in real life - maybe a racecourse in the right place or a sports stadium, things like those.I am going on a cruise to NZ ports from Brisbane next year - I have flown around the various ports I will visit (using TP) and it is very interesting. Frankly, now that I have used TP a lot, I can do without the cartoonish autogen completely :-) Barry

  3. I like to fly in areas of the world that are in the news - but when I ask myself just where are these places, I don't really know!!:-) . For this I use TileProxy I have recently been flying around the Golan Heights - in the default Bell 206, which I have just about mastered now!! :-) Very Interesting.Barry

  4. The texture res of FS9 is way lower than that for FSx. Even then, standard the texture res for FSx is 1 metere, the res that you see provided by the map providers in some places can be better than that - to see these you have to modify the INI file. However to see these really high res textures while in flight , you better have a very good syste,I stick with the standard FSx 1 metre textures - on balance , with my system, I am very happy with thatBarry

  5. KennyTP only does away with Autogen - scenery addons display as per normal. I am enjoying flying aroundAustralia in TP - as there is an addon that has hundreds of small airfields - many with trees around them as part of the scenry - it fits in well with TPThat screenshot looks to me like the Service provider has 2 areas side by side that were photographed at different times/seasons. TP cna only display whatever photos the Service provider provides. - something we have to loife with I am afraid - the Mapping services do not give an homogenous coverage right across the globe. Actually, if you are using FS9, that screenshot is very good. Barry

  6. Hmm - I really don't know why you are getting that error message. However - I notice that you are not using the latest Beta 7 version of TP and I can see a number of errors in your INI file. The worst of these errors is that you have 2 Service providers selected - Service 1 and Service 3 #source=Acme Globe Servicesource=Service Example 1#source=Service Example 2source=Service Example 3#source=Service Example 4There are also a number of other differences between what you have in your INI file and what is in Ed Truthan's available INI download. I don't know whether these are sufficient to cause you the error.Personally, I think you should follow the instructions in Ed Tuthans posting (at the head of this Forum) - uninstall Beta 6 and reinstall TP in accordance with those instructions. Leave the content of the INI file alone. Barry

  7. AS the OP , I should have explained myself a little more clearly - I am generally quite satisfied with the gauges in VC's and the actual modelling of the VC - it is the texturing of the panel, seats, sides of doors, armrests, etc that are the things that I always think are lacking. Please excuse my ignorance, but surely it is "just" a matter of a higher res/larger texture image for (say) the seating.? For example, Orbx have put out a high res cockpit for the Carenado Mooney.Barry

  8. I am wondering why is it that many/most a/c VC's (both freeware and payware ) are not well textured textured, when compared to the external textures. Modellers go to great efforts to make sure that every external rivet is accurately shown - but the VCs are nearly always far inferior. Not so much a criticism or complaint - but really wondering why? Is there some kind of technical limitation - or are the modellers simply worn out by the time they get to the VC?Barry

  9. Hi The TP shows "DONE" many times during the loading process.Just in case you are unaware as to how TP works - I have shown a sequence of screenshots in the loading process below The first one is when you first startup TPthe next 3 show how the TP box "ovals" all fill up slowly. The Sim loading will remain at around 35% until ALL of these ovals fill up with stars - this does take a LONG time. Are your ovals (each of which represents a resolution level, I think) filling up? If they are not filling - then you I think would have a problem with your Internet connection. As I said in my last post - watch the TP box and tell us what you are seeing - and I mean more than the word DONE :-) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/192637.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/192638.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/192639.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/192640.jpg
