  1. Mike,Let me explain it a little more: I started the ATR not as a plane, I just started programming some gauges for a panel that would be released by another person. That other person shut down his project (funny enough, he was part of one of the groups you mentioned). I felt really frustrated. I had spent eight months working every night on it, a minimum of two or three hours per day on those gauges, researching about the aircraft and seeking for all kind of information. Then I decided that I should make a panel to fit the gauges in, but of course than I needed some extra gauges to compensate those which were going to be programmed by someone else who also dissapeared... In the end, I ended up with a plane. Good or bad, but more or less complete. It took me two years. You call it my "toys". It's not toys. It's two years of my life. And I'm not taking my toys with me. Simply speaking, I don't feel anymore like giving out a single minute of my life to anyone else. The only thing I've got since I released my plane is a hughe load of complaints(believe me, my inbox has been full everyday ever since then), few greetings and one or two constructive criticism. Now I fully understand that person who disappeared months ago when I was ready with my gauges.F. S
  2. (Message edited by author on 2002.05.24)Dear Sir,Thanks for your comments, which contribute so much to encourage "freeware developers" to continue spending thousands of hours just to get those kind of comments from persons like you.I came back to this forum to tell everyone about a new file I should soon upload, just to find so nice comments as yours. OK. Just take it like this: I made this plane for my own use, the reason why I made it is just because I like learning. I learned programming gauges, also learnt making visual models... and also learnt about constructive criticism: it is extremely rare.Anyway, for those who like it: The new version will have a re-worked visual model and textures, and, yes, Mr."J", the flight dynamics are also updated. If it is not available this weekend, the reason would be that I'm waiting for beedback from a real ATR42-300 pilot who kindly offered himself for beta-testing the flight model. Luckily enough, my inbox is not only full of mails coming from persons like you, but there are from time to time persons who like to do something constructive.F. S
  3. Hi Bob,I'll try to have a new ADF gauge ready for the next release.Paco (F. S
  4. I'm planning to release other versions of the ATR with six blades too, as the 42-500 and the 72 series. But first I'll take some time to refine this one.Paco (F. S
  5. Hi,I will consider adding some more reflections for future repaints; I suspect that my video card is somehow not rendering correclty colours or images in FS, as I see in my PC too much reflections (it does have reflections) and I modified the alpha channels before uploading to make them not so aparent. I also din't notice about the blue dots mentioned here in the VC panel bmp, so I serisly start to think I should replace my viedo card.Regarding the texture alignment on the back... one more I didn't notice. Last week, when doing the final things such as landing lights, etc, I discovered that the makemdl module supplied by MS with wouldn't put landing and taxi lights in VC. So I decided to upgrade to the last makemdl version they released. That almost trashed the whole project; they introduced a major BUG which made unusable any project made in inches (as their tutorials are). My project was in inches, and there was no easy way to change it to meters. About 50% of the parts completely lost texture alignment. Now I notice that the tail section also lost alignment, but much less than the others, that's why I missed that one. I'll make a fix for this.I also didn't dare to make higher res textures because of the scenery blurriness which tends to appear when too many resources are used. Thanks for the feedback,Paco (F. S
  6. George, I'd very much appreciate if you could provide me with data to improve the flight model, as I'm no pilot myself. What is wrong, exactly?F. S
  7. Thanks for your kind words. There is a mistake in the aircraft.cfg file which makes it impossible to manually tune radios by mouse-clicks. I uploaded a fix for this yesterday, but it didn't appear yet in the library. Here is a quick fix:Open the file aircraft.cfg with notepad and scroll down to the [radios] section. You will find the following text:[Radios]// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1=1Com.1=1, 1Com.2=1, 1Nav.1=1, 1, 1Nav.2=1, 1, 0Adf.1=1Transponder.1=1Marker.1=1Modify it to read as follows:[Radios]// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1=1Com.1=1, 0Com.2=1, 0Nav.1=1, 0, 1Nav.2=1, 0, 0Adf.1=1Transponder.1=1Marker.1=1The values to modify are in the Com and Nav lines. This should fix it. My apologies for the mistake. I didn't catch it as I am always let FS2002 ATC do the automatic COM frequency change, and also use FSNAV to tune the NAV frequencies by drag-and drop from the map, but never tune the radios by clicking. As the radios are the default King Air ones, I didn't expect anything like this to happen.Happy flying,Francisco S

  9. I was also trying to do the same, then I realized how big the task was...Maybe that's an explanation why the MS translation of ATC text in my spanish version is so horrible, I suppose they used some translation program instead of human translators. It's not only that listening to english spoken ATC and reading spanish at the same time is unrealistic, but also it is somehow a bit difficult to understand two languages at the same time, furthermore when the spanish text seems to have been written by someone with absolutely no knowledge of Spainsh.Paco
