  1. Hi Guys,I'm trying to slow down the visual deployment time on the flaps (so that the flap appears to move slowly)I thought it would just be a case of adding a ( 9.0 line ) into the WING file under the FLAP section (similar to the GEAR deployment in the WHEEL file). But I can't seem to slow down the FLAP part movement. As anybody any ideas?...........or Is this something that has to be modified in the PART MODEL.Thanks for your invaluable helpJohn
  2. Hi Leen,I know we had a problem with Giorgio's first 737 and Md, but this was due to the fact that the FIRST colour in the COLOUR TABLE was'nt set to: (0,0,0) BLACKThis is the only thing we need to make sure off and then everything else works fine.If you require any info or help..................just post me or email me.RegardsJohn.p.s. the ATR is looking very nice indeed!!
  3. Hi Everyone,I was just wondering whether any of you guys who have written Python scripts in the past would'nt mind me taking a peek at them, .......so I can get the feel of what the mandatory lines of code are and how they interact with Fly.If you'd be so kind you can either Email them to me or Post them here (which ever suits you).I've read Rich's script PDF file and have Tony and Georg's samples, but would'nt mind seeing a few more examples. Thanks Guys for any help.p.s. Does anyone have a current email address for Jeff Davis. Ive tried his address which was posted with his Yakster script, but I think its no longer applicable.
  4. Hi Steve,Hope you have a good time next week, and returned fresh, fit and with a smile.Speak to ya soon MateRegardsJohnp.s. try not to let things get you down, and remember you have lots of friends here!!
  5. Hi Georg,Thanks for taking the time to post that, it will be very helpful and thats a neat little script you've written.I've just started to read fly2scriptingdocumentation.pdf so hopefully I'll understand a little bit more shortly. Thanks again for your time and helpregards John
  6. Hi Tony,Do you happen to know....... if I can access a .pyc file. I can access a .py file no problem, but I'm not sure about a .pyc.I'm suspecting that the .pyc may be coded and you can only open .py files.Thank again for your helpJohn
  7. Hey Chris,...........I'm impressed, it's great to see you back and helping out in this great sim.RegardsJohn
  8. Hi Frank,Thanks for that ...................I'll take a peek.Cheers John
  9. Hi Tony........thanks for that.I've just downloaded it so I can take a peek at the py file (if you don't mind).I'm curious as to how you've structured it, its a shame I can't use it!! ........being a mac guy means I can't use VOLNAV.Do you happen to have a link for the PYTHON furum you used?many ThanksJohn
  10. Hi Guys,I was thinking of how to generate some new interest in FLY and can't understand why more has'nt been done with the Python programming script. Is there problems with the script? or do we just lack the guys with python knowledge and knowhow.I've been trying to get in touch with Jeff Davis (the author of Yakster) but my emails are being returned. (If anyone knows his email address i'd be grateful).......anyhowWhat I had in mind was a script similar to Jeffs which would allow several folders eg. Heavy Jets, Turbo Props, Landings, Take-offs, Baggage Carts, vehicles etc...So that sound wav files can be placed in the folders and played randomly along with silent intervals consisting of different time lengths, to create an Airport environment. The other script I'd like to see is a GPWS programmed in Python, because it would be multi platform it would allow us Mac guys a bit of pleasure (Since we lost the use of FlyScripts). It just seems a shame more has'nt been done with Python!!I have downloaded all the bits and beginners tutorials to see if I can contribute, but alas I think it will be quite sometime before I'm able to make progress (never programmed before). So if theres anyone out there with python experience and likes a challenge. Just let me know and I'll get the relevant Wav files over to you.Regards John
  11. Hi Ken,I've been trying to email you for well over a week now, but I keep getting it returned. Have you changed your address recently or have I missed something.regards JohnHope your OK!
  12. Hi there,.......sorry I don't know your name (Holly perhaps?)The first thing to check, is that your version is patched to the latest release. I think I remeber a while back a thread saying it crashes in Mac0S X if its not patched. The patch version you require is version 240 and can be found in the Avsim file library under: (FLYII > Patches > FlyIIPatch240.sit)The actual version is 2.50.240.Once youve download the patch........ follow the simple instructions carefully, and you should be OK. If you still have a problem once your patched up, just drop us a line again, and I'm pretty sure we'll be able get you up and running.Hope this helpsKind regardsJohn
  13. Hi Cory, good to know your still around.I was wondering if you would'nt mind sending me your email address. I just need to ask you something regarding Fly.Many ThanksJohn
  14. Hi Guys,Count me in Steve......FlyII the best!!Best Regards to all my fellow flyersJohn
  15. Hi Guys,As most of you are aware.........theres a very special and loyal fan base here in the Fly forums, which still continues to develop FlyII either as specialist teams or as individuals. Its because of this development, that people now seek the need for specialist aircraft with workable systems which can be flown on-line using (Live ATC). I personally feel that FLY's pinnacle and interest was when heavies were being developed and available for purchase and its a real shame that this is no longer the case.As we all know the reluctance to development these aircraft for FLYII was simply a matter of potential market sales not being enough to cover the many, many hours of develpment required to package and sell these products sucessfully. Please DON'T hold this against them. PMDG is a very hard working group of people who develop fantasic products and they still keep an eye on these forums regularly. With this in mind I'm sure that many of your request and thoughts have been noted and If anything can be done........well I'm sure we'll be the first to know.Kind RegardsJohn
  16. Hi Franklin,I'm currently still using FLYII and have been developing various bits and bobs for a while now. Having tried a few other sims, FLYII still has the most realism to me, especially if your prepared to develop and tweak the sim a little.Yes....I am aware of the slow frame rates and the problem with the USB joysticks.......but I still love the sim and know it just need more development from Mac users.I'm using a USB CH joystick and it works fine (apart from the rudder, which I use the keyboard instead).I'm going to try and see if I can get the Mac community involved in its development and along with some other great news which you'll hear about soon lets see if we can make our sim annd hobby more enjoyable.I've enclosed a couple of pics of my MD83 to show what can be acheived on a MAC!!Regards to you allJohn
  17. Hi Everyone............its been a while,Has anyone any indication as to whats causing the problem with the joysticks etc. Is it a Mac OSX issue, FLYII issue or a USB issue (Joystick software).I'll conduct some tests and report back, Hopefully we can identify where the problem lies.RegardsJohn
  18. Hi Guys,Thanks for the info..............has anyone ordered any PMDG aircraft from this site??.Just wondered if the aircraft downloads are OK and if this site is secure.Cheers John
  19. Hi Guys,Just wondering if anyone has tried ordering from this site....... wondered how big the downloads are.Like Roger I'm still on 56k dial up......but would'nt mind having the 757!regardsJohn
  20. Hi Ken, and everyoneAs promised here is a pic of the 737-800 series Panel Ive just started. The interior graphics are almost complete so the next step is to get it into Fly and start work on the Pbg's.As you can see the picture attached is very low resolution and reduced due to the 125k upload limit. I'll post some 100% pics once I make a bit of progress.RegardsJohnhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92624.jpg
  21. Hi Ken,As I mentioned early I've just started a Glass Cockpit which is beginning to take shape now, so I'll post a picture shortly. What I'll probably do is get the panel into Fly and do as much as I can (time permitting) to get the basics up and running. At that time I'll make a list of the main things/problems that I can't program and If you can help out...... then that would be fantasic.Regards John
  22. Hi Ken, Johnny, Tony, the guy who posted. (sorry I don't know your first name)Wow thats an old panel,... I think I did that in Fly2k. Anyhow the reason I discontinued the 737-500 panel was because I was told Tony and Giorgio was creating one. So I decided to do something else (the MD83) pics below. As most of you are aware, Panels take a huge amount of time to create, the biggest problems though are hooking everything up especially if your not a programmer. With this in mind I can only go so far before running into problems. I have ask for help in the past but have not recieved any offers. If I'm honest its probably me at fault....... because I don't want to issue a panel with knobs and dials that dont function correctly and being a MAC guy Im pretty much on my own.As well as the MD83 Ive just started work on a Glass cockpit Panel which we should be able to use in a few different aircraft.I'll see what I can do in the not too distant future.RegardsJohn
  23. Hi GuysTo everyone concerned......excellent results, these night textures will make a fantastic addition to Fly!Well done guysregardsJohn
