  1. Hey Steve........................I'm IMPRESSEDThe Light Rigs are fantastic!!! As you maybe aware............Pilots actually use the Chimney Stack and Beacon at Fiddlers as a marker for approach into John Lennon when I'm there (Day or Night) its amazing just how close these aircraft appear next to the Cooling Towers. These will make a superb addition to your EGGP scenery and if you can model the Runcorn bridge at sometime (Although I can appreciate this maybe a hugh task). This will surely make one of the best flying areas available to FLY.Excellent Work SteveRegards John
  2. Cones!..............Cones!..................We don't need no stink'in cones!!!!!What we need is a Runcorn Bridge or a Fiddlers Ferry Power Station. Congrats man on being able to do these wonderful models for FLY!!.If a could make a request though a would like to see the lighting rigs you see at the end of runways. (you know the Red and White things) I think if you were able to do these in the 3 different heights they would really add some depth and perspective to the airport when coming in on approach.Just a thought!!Speak to you soon MateCheers John
  3. Hi Roger.......how are things down under??Thanks for the superb explanation.............this forum is a great community and has a fantastic wealth of information.....if only more people would dare to ask questions...........I'm sure we'd all learn a bit more about this excellent sim and general aviation, as I'm sure many have done from yours and Randall's input. Thanks Guys for taking the time to explain.Kind RegardsJohnThe only bad news is,............ I've a lot more questions to ask!!
  4. Hi Randall................thanks again for all your help, One thing I forgot to mention regarding NAV systems was on the HAWKER.On the PFD switches to the left of the ADI/HSI..............theres one which reads PFD NAV SYSTEM. Although the switch appears to function, I can't see any change in the aircrafts flight patterns or indeed any change to Panel instrument or displays.Do you....(or anybody else) happen to know what this switch is for????Kind RegardsJohn
  5. Hi RandallThanks very much for the examples........I fully understand the principals involved now!! and can work out how the systems interact with each other. Thanks again for your time and wonderful explanations.Kind regardsJohn
  6. Hi Randall,Thanks for the explanation and reponse............When you talk about coupled to a VOR........Could you please explain how I would do this??If I input a COURSE (eg. 260 degrees) into the CRS display on the glare panel, how do I get the aircraft to follow that course??Just to let you know Randall, I have read the FLY manual (Many times) any completly understand the VOR indicators once the Frequency has been dialled in,.......I'm just confused about the function of the CRS display........I'd like to know how the aircraft responds to the CRS input once a Pilot has dialled in a course. If anyone could give me an working example.........I'd really appreciate it.RegardsJohn
  7. Hi Guys,I know this question may appear to be a bit stupid..... (I....probably am!).............but I'm trying to understand aircraft proticol and systems. Can someone explain to me the difference between the COURSE display and the HEADING display on aircraft glare panels.??????On the DC9 panel (for example) .......although I can change the COURSE digits on the Glare Panel, I don't quite understand how this relates to any aircraft system???When I change the HEADING digits the aircraft responds and changes direction. Could someone please explain to me what the function of these COURSE digits are and how they should be used to aid navigation. I hope you understand what I mean. Many Thanks to you allRegards John

  11. Hi everyone,Ive been working away last week so I've not had time to check out the forums until now. I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words and interest in this project. Its because of the time and effort you take to respond, with your words of encouragement, that gives us developers the will to go on.Ive more or less finished the Graphics for the Main Panel now and have started doing the Pbg's. The slow part I feel........ will be hooking up the systems files...........as this is completely new to me............ so I'll be seeking your help shortly. Many thanksJohn
  12. Hi Jan,Just to let you know....... that everything you see has been created using Photoshop. Thanks for your kind wordsJohn
  13. Hi Tony,I've actually posted 3 times regarding this KLP file, but alas got no responce. If you manage to find out what the numbers control in the klp file could you please let me know. I am aware that these parametres conrol the play and loop for the WAV file, but I cannot get them to play my amended Wav files for the life of me.Cheers John
  14. Hi Giorgio.........Hope your OKI'd like to see an aircraft which is flown by many airlines, so it would encourage people to participate and re-paint the various liverys, something like:Airbus A330 or MD11Regards John
  15. Hi John,You can't actually replace the exixsting folders because there are item in the folders you still need. What you should do........ is open the 240 patch folders and transfer the items in the specific folders so that they overwrite JUST the items in the folder which have the same names.for example:Open up a folder from the PATCH (240) say the DATA folderthen just drag the FACTORY.MLF into your existing DATA folder. This will then overwrite the OLD FACTORY.MLF.Hope this helps...........if your not to sure about the above just let me know and I'll go through it with you.Good LuckRegards John
  16. Hi Guys,Does any of you fellow flyers know what the digits relate to in the KLP sound files. eg. 1 20344 0I know Cory(Prince) was the sound expert but Ive seen much of him around lately.Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanceJohn
  17. Hi Roger,...how ya do'inYep all my files have been modified correctly (I've checked them over so many times) and Ive done many repaints in the past.I was beginning to think this maybe a problem created from within the 240 PATCH (Mac), but I think I've solved the Problem. What I did was created an EPD file from my Changed files and placed it into the Aircraft folder, and what do you know........there it was in the aircraft window. I think the cause was because I'd created everything from scratch the search 0 files were having no effect because there was'nt I POD Aircraft in the AIRCRAFT folder for it to relate to and overide. If I simple remove MY PODDED aircraft and UN-pod it, then place all the files in their relevant folders my aircarft does'nt show-up.It appears as though FLY looks for the AIRCARFT pod first and then search the folders for files realating to that aircraft pod.Anyway It works now so I'm back on with somemore modifications. Thanks Again Guys for ALL your help and suggestionsRegards John
  18. Thanks for the info....Alejandro,I actually left it with the ART/folder name in........but It makes no difference if I remove it or notMany ThanksJohn
  19. Hi Steve,Thanks for that, but everythings OK in that department.regards John.
  20. Hi Chris,Thanks for taking the time to reply..........I'm still having no luck. I re-installed FLYII + (patch250.240) tonight and trashed all my files and started over. Heres what I did. First there are NO 3rd party aircraft installed (just FLY's default aircraft). From (Giorgio 737) Ive created a New Livery and renamed it BMI.tif, along with BMIicon.pbm /act Next I unpodded the 800TR (TRI4) system files and amended as follows:ART:BMI.tifBMIicon.pbmBMIicon.actBMIshad.pbmBMIshad.actWORLD:1) TRI4.sit (changed to locate the BMI.nfo file)2) TRI4.nfo (changed the icon file and TRI.lod file) to BMIicon.pbm and BMI.lod and renamed it BMI.nfo(also manufacture name to Boeing/British Midland) etc3) TRI4.lod (re-named the file to BMI.lod)4) BMI.lod (changed the acm file names to BMI.tif)MODELS:BMI.acmBMIshad.acmIve checked and double checked everything but I still can't get the ICON to show up in the Choose Aircraft Window.Tomorrow Chris I'm going to use ALL the 800TR files and simple just replace the icon graphic pbm and see If i can at least get a different Icon to show up. (without attaching a new livery)Anyhow If you've anymore suggestions Chris I'd sure like to hear them.Cheers John
  21. Hi, Guys,..............I really need you help here. For the life of me I cannot get my aircraft ICON to show up in the FLY aircraft window. I started by UN-Podding the Hawker and have amended the nessessary files (.SIT, .NFO, .LOD). I am using all the existing Hawker files (No Panel changes) and just want to connect Giorgios 737 (with my Livery) upto the HAWKER system files so it shows up in the Window so I can select it.All the ACM files have been renamed and attached to the relevant system files and the correct LIVERY tif and ICON pbm have been placed in the ART folder.HELP!..........This is driving me NUTS!!Obviously.............. search pod file are set to 0 in the ini.Any Idea or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks GuysJohn
