  1. >The METAR was 350V80. What does that mean? That the winds>were VARIABLE betweem 350 and 80 degrees. Half of that is>215!!>How is that wrong??>>Thanks,>Jim>No Jim, the METAR reads: "Wind 050 degrees at 10 knots, varying between 350 and 080 degrees..." So the general wind direction was from the NE and not SWThis is from http://www.met.tamu.edu/class/METAR/metar-pg6.html (my highlighting of the word clockwise):Variable wind direction with wind speed greater than 6 knots shall be coded in the format, dndndnVdx dxdx. The variable wind direction group shall immediately follow the wind group. The directional variability shall be coded in a clockwise direction. For example, if the wind is variable from 180 to 240 at 10 knots, it would be coded "21010KT 180V240".Cheers,S

  2. >>Reggie, can AI craft be setup the same and work?>Yep, I modified all my Ultimate Traffic a/c to connect with gates and trucks. Look in the aircraft.cfg of the default a/c to see what is needed and then start fiddling. Small word of caution - if you put yourself at say Heathrow with 60 or more AI a/c, you'll suffer a bit with framerates until all the jetways and trucks have moved into position, takes nmaybe a minute or two.Cheers,S

  3. >I have instructed the Brussels office of my organisation to>start inquiries as to the feasibility of legal proceedings>against blah blahYour office called - they wonder why you missed your appointment with the psychiatrist today???

  4. I can confirm what JG experienced. Flew EGLL-ESSA with an iFDG/PSS merged 319 yesterday and had a very nice ILS intercept on 19R. Can't say that I noticed any undue inertia during the approach, but I did indeed get the overheated brakes!Anyway, sincere thanks to Amedee for pointing us in the right direction! Thanks again,S

  5. Karl,The way I read your story goes as follows:Both you and the FMC got it wrong, but the FMC was closer to the final result - not a real surprise... I take it that you used the ActiveSky forecast winds at the beginning of the flight and entered them into each associated line in the LEGS pages? OK, but let's be honest - these are only forecasted winds, and nowhere near the quality that you'd get from a modern dispatch tool set. So, although you say that the winds "were never a problem" I guess they were after all...One possible way of negating this factor in your research could be to disable online weather updates after the initial download, that way I think that the actual winds will be much closer to the forecast ones for the entire flight.About the DING-DONG - what value did you enter into the RESERVES line?S

  6. Bruno,You need to have either APU GEN 2 or EXT PWR 2 shown as AVAIL. In your case, that means switching on the APU, but not turning the APU generators on. All is in fact explained in the manual Chapter 13, page 10.Cheers,S
