So it seems like the ATC call sign info not being saved is how it is for everyone and not just me?

Yes, correct.  This hasn't yet been implemented.  There is a Self-Help / Wishlist subcategory on the MSFS Public Forums where users can make their desires known to MS/Asobo.  Haven't looked closely enough yet to see if Avsim has something similar.  Since the dev team read these forums, might be a good idea.

What about the globe not displaying the airports? I have reset that back to defaults but it won't save.

Have not seen this reported and it works fine in my installation.  You can try starting MSFS using "Run as administrator" just on the off-chance there's a directory or permissions issue with your installation.  In any event, you can report bugs/issues with MSFS using the Zendesk portal.  You will have to log in using your Microsoft account credentials.

I've never been able to save the ATC call sign. Wish I could...

As a workaround, you can edit the aircraft.cfg file for each aircraft and embed the aircraft identifier as well as the call sign.  This is a permanent change until such time as that aircraft.cfg file gets overwritten in an update.

The .cfg files are located in the content directory at <MSFS Directory> / Official / OneStore under each specific aircraft folder.

It says 'Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private.'

Ok, my mistake completely.  The link is to a post from back in Alpha/Closed Beta testing and since you weren't a tester, you can't go there. DOH!  My apologies.

I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions other than a complete uninstall/reinstall.  If you go that route, be sure to clear out any leftover folders after the uninstall.

  4. Hey @Age_27... do you have an account on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator forums here.  Here's a post  over there where the issue is solved.

If you don't, here are the steps.  Please backup these folders (below) first and understand that you are doing this at your own risk.

    1. Go to the main MSFS content location, Official/OneStore

    2. Find "fs-base" folder and delete

    3. Find "fs-base-ui-pages" and delete

    4. Restart MSFS, allow content to update, check in-sim Toolbar.

Some have also fixed this with a complete uninstall/reinstall, but that is the last resort.

I see that you are in the mod team there now. Congratulations ! Good work with the Guide.

Hey, Dominique.  Thanks for the kind words.  Was there from the beginning, and along the way was asked if I'd be interested.  Decided to give it a try.  Has been fascinating, and very enjoyable.  Stop by and say hello sometime over there.  We have a great team.

Good thing we still have Microsoft!

You just cannot actually compare, financially, the two companies.

Not really sure what your point is here... I'm grateful we have both of these companies.  They are not competitors and are in completely different industry spaces.  The products they provide are necessary and valuable.

    So do I uninstall P3d??

Yes, absolutely.  Doing an uninstall will deactivate P3D.  If you have any PMDG aircraft installed, be sure to deactivate them before uninstalling P3D.  They are deactivated via the FMC.

I cab see the "Historical Weather Mode is Active", and the time is set in the past by 1 week. Also, that checkbox is checked. But it just leaves my destination thick

With ActiveSky set as discussed above, when you open P3D you should see the historical  "Weather Date and Time" window on the ActiveSky Wx Control tab update to show the current date and time you have set in P3D.

You state that "time is set in the past by 1 week" but you said in your first post you are starting the sim with "The time and date is 1300 on 01/01/2019".  That is 11 months ago, not last week.  The date and time shown on ActiveSky's Wx Control tab with "Historical Weather Mode is Active" set should match the exact time you set in P3D.  Again make sure the ActiveSky "Force Historical Time to Sim Time" setting is checked.

  9. Gary - To do this you simply select the "Wx Control" tab, then select "Historical Weather is Active" and then check the small box that says "Force Historical Time to Sim Time".  I do this all the time and it works as advertised.

Is the link for a Microsoft Account sign in or a Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum Sign up?

You are signing up for an MFS Insider Forum's account.  Your sign-up will be authenticated by a human at a later date.  This just get's your request into the queue.

It isn't unusual for some website properties to require a separate login for the forums... and that's what this is.
