Would someone be kind enough to confirm whether this package includes a model? Or is is simply a superb panel which was to be payware, but has now been released as freeware for use with models such as Mike Stones Tristar?
  2. Yeah, that was one of the first things I did, but sadly it didn't work.
  3. Hmmm, in an interesting twist to this little problem, I was messing around trying different addresses, and if I type in www.captainsim.com/forum I am taken to a Captain Sim test forum. However as soon as I try and access captainsim.info/forum (the actual forum address) I'm back to the 'page cannot be displayed'. Since the store (which as I already mentioned I cannot access either) is also under the captainsim.info/ address, I guess it is the .info part of the address that is being rejected. Since all other parts of the website come under the .com address I have no problems accessing them. This is REALLY annoying me now.
  4. Done that, and no result. I'm at a loss as to what is causing this. Same old thing, every time, 'page cannot be displayed'.
  5. I've just noticed that I can't access the 'shop' on the Captain Sim website either. All other parts of the site are fine, except for the store, and the forum? What gives? I have tried disconnecting my firewall, but its still exactly the same thing 'page cannot be displayed'. I REALLY need to get this sorted out otherwise I won't be able to buy the 707 when it is finally released.Help please!Al.
  6. Hi,All of a sudden about 2 months ago, I found I couldn't access the Captain Sim forum on their website (no probs accessing the actual site). Just get the 'page cannot be displayed' message. I just figured that it must have been a temporary problem with Captain Sim, but as time has gone by, I am still unable to access the forum. Added to which, now there are various links on the main website informing of various things, for instance the announcement of 8 new projects, all of which redirect the viewer to the forums, but I can't get there!REALLY annoying me, as everything was just fine until a couple of months ago, and then bang, unable to display page!Any help most appreciated guys!Regards,Al.
  7. No probs guys. Glad you are enjoying David's excellent updates. He's a real 'silent force' in the simming world!
  8. This was discussed fairly recently on the POSKY forums, and I emailed Owen and enquired about the status of the C-17. This was about a month ago, so presumably is reasonably up to date info! Owen has said that the C-17 will be 'giftware'...a free download for owners of FSD products. He is currently working on the VC I believe, but he also said that the next two FSD releases are taking priority over the C-17.But hopefully it will appear at some stage! I can't wait!Regards,Al.
  9. Hi,I noticed that David Maltby's VC-10 package is in the 'hottest files' section. So I just thought I'd let anybody who isn't already aware know, that David recently released some superb updates for all the VC-10 variants. These updates include opening doors, stairs, engine covers, wing views, and superb wing flexing. Added to which, the Royal Air Force C1K variant now has trailing refueling hoses. So if the mighty '10' is in anyones hanger, they may want to pop over to www.maltbyd.fsnet.co.uk and download these excellent updates.
  10. Hello gents (and ladies?).With the general aversion to space wasting 'poll' posts, I hope this enquiry isn't considered one of them! Whilst flying the Captain Sim F-104 for the first time this morning, it made me start thinking about all the releases that I'm anticipating most over the coming months...both freeware and payware. So I wondered what everyone else is looking forward to the most?My list would probably be as follows:-1. WITHOUT A DOUBT the Captain Sim C-130.2. Captain Sim 707.3. Owen Hewitt's Gmax C-17.4. POSky A340.5. Project Fokker 70/100 V2 (if its still in the pipeline?)Also looking forward to the King Air 200 from Veneaviones Simulation Group who did that superb Citation. Thought it was meant to be out some time ago...must have been delayed? And I don't know what it will be like, or more importantly whether it will ever be released at all(!), but I hope the 'Pilots L1011 Tristar' package will turn out to be a great addon (visuals are certainly very promising).Typically there are probably a lot of upcoming projects that I have forgotten about! But anyway, I really just wondered what everyone is looking forward to hammering around the skies when they are released? This may also turn up projects that I didn't even know existed!Regards,Al.
  11. Hi,I just wondered if anyone could tell me whether the B-25 is still available for purchase and download from the Avsim store? I have checked, but all I can see is the CD version. The downloads section does not appear to display a downloadable purchase of the B-25 package. I would very much like to purchase the B-25, and if need be will obviously order the CD, but my first choice would be the download.Any help would be most appreciated!Best regards,Al Summers.
  12. Hello everyone. No doubt there is a specific forum more suited to this question, but if nobody can answer my question in here, then hopefully they can point me in the direction where answers might be availabe!I would like to know what program (if any) is available for changing elevation/landmass/landform data within flight sim? By this I mean that some areas are far from realistic with regard to terrain features such as ridges, valleys, mountains etc. Whilst this is understandable, given that Microsoft have modelled the entire world within FS, they could hardly be expected to have everything totally realistic, but I would like to change a small area for myself. So is there such a program available? If so is it freeware or payware? Also, how difficult is this type of scenery development considered to be?Hope someone can point me in the right direction.Best regards,Al Summers.
  13. Many thanks again for the help Dick. Thats worked a treat! Once again, I really appreciate your help. Thanks a bunch!Best regards,Al.
  14. Many thanks for your reply Dick. I'm very grateful! Having followed Dick's instructions regarding the text file, I saved it as 'myfile.txt', and dragged and dropped on the Scasm icon. The resultant BGL that appeared was named 'myfile.txt.bgl'. I tried putting this in the Scenery/World/Scenery file, but unfortunately the tower remained. Do I have to rename the file? Or am I doing something else wrong?Any further comments most appreciated.Regards,Al.
  15. Greetings everyone.I need to get rid of a tower at my local airport. I wondered if anyone 'in the know' would be kind enough to code the following coordinates into 'header/exlude' lines, so that I may simply copy them into a notepad file...for subsequent use in Scasm.NE corner: S 51'41.13' - W 57'46.72'SE corner: S 51'41.15' - W 57'46.72'SW corner: S 51'41.15' - W 57'46.75'NW corner: S 51'41.13' - W 57'46.74'Having read some other posts regarding exluding items of default scenery, I gather that the area to be exluded needs to be quite a bit bigger than the object which I'm trying to get rid of. With this in mind I realise that the above coordinates are very close together. The above coordinates do allow a larger area than the actual tower (probably about a Cessna wingspan from the tower edge on all four side - for lack of a better measurement!). The southerly coordinates can not really be extended as the runway is very close to the tower, however the northern coordinates could be extended without concern. The east and west coordinates could be extended, but not significantly.I have read some other posts regarding exclusion code, but don't seem to be able to get to the bottom of it. Were I deleting/creating scenery on a regular basis I would consider it essential to get to the bottom of the code and get the hang of it, but as this is a one off, I hope someone would be kind enough to help me.Kind regards,Al Summers.P.S. http://hometown.aol.co.uk/smmrs429/myhomepage/photo.htmlThis link shows a picture of the tower.
