  1. But that was the original question. I have no problem replacing FSX titles with P3D titles if everything is $10. The thing is, the $10 annual sale has always been around January 10,11,12. This year, nothing. I'm just hoping they run the sale sometime and don't abandon it completely.
  2. Yes, same here. No notice so far. Since I switched from FSX to P3Dv3, I'd really like to replace my 727 with the correct version. 727 has always been one of my favorites. But $35 is a bit much just to replace what I already have, in the wrong version.
  3. Has anyone heard anything about the annual Captain Sim $9.99 sale. Every year it's around January 10 or 11. This year I've seen nothing.
  4. Ah, I answered my own question. I moved those 4 things to the proper folder and no more error messages. Thanks for your help. Mike
  5. Hi Jimm Thanks for the quick reply. But a bit of a problem. ASN is set up to look for P3D in c:\Prepar3D, which is where I have it. However, when it tries to install Simconnect, it creates an folder in c:\Program Files(x86) and puts things there. I've tried deleting this folder, but it just creates another one. The files it installs there are a folder as_srv, and 3 files, unins000.msg, unins000.dat and unins000.exe. Can I just move these to the correct folder, probably not. Also, with P3D in c:\prepar3d, what would be the correct locations for the other two folders, simulation application data folder and Common Data Export Path? Thanks again Mike
  6. I have P3D installed in C:\Prepar3D rather than in the default folder. There are too many permission errors if I put it in the default folder. The problem is that ASN can't connect with P3D since it is looking only in the default folder C:\Program Files(X86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D. Is there any way to make FSN look for the folder where I have P3D loaded?
  7. I did a complete reinstall on a new computer and requested a new Key yesterday. No response as of yet so I emailed JD directly this morning and still no response. My details are: Product ID -325800262 Name Michael Carvelas My email is jaws1948@verizon.net I purchased RCv4 so long ago, I'm not sure if I had this email address then. My old email address was mcarvela@optonline.net but I no longer have access to that as I changed ISP's years ago. Could someone please check on my key and email it to me at the jaws1948 email address. Thanks Mike
  8. Solved it. I wasn't running the command prompt as administrator. Did that and everything registered and installed without problem. Now to wait for the unlock code in my email.
  9. I'm doing a reinstall of RCV4 on a Windows10 system and FSX-Steam Ed. RC is loaded but when I start it, I get an error that MSINET.OCX or one of its components is not registered or missing. I've found it in the System32 folder and done the regsvr32 /s msinet.ocx command but no luck. Ideas? Thanks
  10. This is the standard version which I used when I had MS FSX. Now I have FSX-SE and would like to use my old copy of ASN.
  11. Hi all I had to do a new installation of Active Sky Next on my new computer on FSX Steam Edition. I can get the program to install. But when I try to enter my activation code, it refuses to accept it. I don't get an error message or anything like that. I enter the code and click on enter and it does nothing. Just a quick blink of the window. Any ideas how to activate my copy of ASN on Steam? Thanks
  12. I'm 67. OMiller, I have you beat. I started with FS version 2.0. Wow, but we're getting old.
  13. FSX runs great for me. You just need enough computer for it to run properly. Take a look at the post just above this one with the screenshots from FS2, Tomahawk, etc. Then tell us again that FSX is disgusting.
  14. Just a thought. You might try AISmooth which should vector traffic away from you, although I'm not certain that it would work for ground traffic. But it's freeware and worth a try.
  15. Do you mean they won't start at all or that they start and then immediately die. If they start even a little and then die out, open your throttles a touch as pistons won't start if you don't give them a little gaas.
  16. Have you tried simviation at http://simviation.com//fsnd/Downloads.htm They have a nice Citation X which is a true FSX model, not a portover. Quite nice and also freeware
  17. I'm just wondering, why? Why would you buy a flight sim program and then just sit back and watch it? Isn't the whole idea to fly the airplane? If I just want to watch, I'll turn on the TV. Not trying to be rude, but just trying to understand the whole concept.
  18. I've already posted this over at the other site and got no replies. So I thought, maybe someone over here at AVsim has some ideas. I have FSX installed to C:\FSX and FSUIPC 4 is installed correctly in the modules folder. FSUIPC works for everything else but when I start AirHauler, after the company loads successfully, I get an error message that FSUIPC cannot be found in the FSX installation. Within Airhauler, in the options menu, I've already checked and the path is shown correctly as C:\FSX. Does anyone have any ideas as to why AH cannot find FSUIPC and what I can do to correct this. I'm running an Alienware Aurora R3 with Win7 64 bit. BTW, I've already asked at JustFlight and they were absolutely no help.
  19. Where I'm now confused is, at Microsoft.com, the updates talk about direct x 9.0c. But I already have direct x 10 installed. Wouldn't that upgrade actually take me backwards? BTW, the sounds all work when I fly the Tinmouse. I'm just wondering if the error message is itself an error.
  20. I downloaded the Tinmouse 737-200ADV which is in today's new files. The plane works perfectly with 2 exceptions.1. On starting the file, I get an error message that FS2AUDIO.DLL failed to load with the error 0x7e. I've already put the dll file into my system 32 folder (Vista Home). I've also tried registering the dll but get an error message that the file can't be found at that location.2. Although I can see the flaps going down in the external view, in the cockpit view, the flap indicator doesn't move from the fully up indication. If anyone has downloaded this plane and has any answers for these two problems, I'd really appreciate some help. ThanksBTW, the plane looks outstanding.
  21. Whatever the problem was, I solved it by uninstalling and then reinstalling xgauge. It now works perfectly.
  22. I'm running FSX with ASEvolution. What is happening is that I can hit Shift-5 and bring up the X Gauge. But when I click the powwer button, I get message "New Imagery Downloading" on the X Gauge screen. The problem is that it never loads. I waited over 5 minutes and that message was still on the screen. Can anyone tell me why it won't load the images. BTW, recently, I did a complete reinstall of everything including FSX, FSUIPC, ASE, etc. Before the reinstall, I was running ASA and the X Guage worked perfectly. It's only since the reinstall and upgrade to ASE that the gauge stopped working.
  23. Now I really feel dumb. The problem was that I was trying to run RC for FSX from the rcv4 folder instead of from the rcv4x folder. All is now working perfectly.
  24. That's what I tried first and it wouldn't work. So I just removed makerwys.exe and all the things it created, re-downloaded makerwys.exe from Pete Dowson's site, put it in the FSX root directory and started RC4. I then clicked on the rebuild dcenery db, answered no to the widefs question, and RC is still telling me that makerwys.exe is not in my FS directory. So why can't RC find it? Thanks
