  1. OK, just checked the .flt file for my default flight. The current camera guid is: CurrentCamera={BCA3FDD1-FB83-4BBA- 8407-4922A7F0D00D} This corresponds to the chase view with a guid of [Camera.1.5] Guid={BCA3FDD1-FB83-4BBA-8407-4922A7F0D00D} Default flight is saved in the chase view. Default flight always loads to the tower view. If, after loading the default flight I load another flight it will load the correct view. If I then go back and load the default flight it will load the correct view. It only loads the tower view when I first boot Flt Sim. Doc G
  2. I have the same problem except mine always loads the tower view instead of the spot view like the flight was saved. Doc G
  3. Thanks for the suggestions Luis. After many attempts I was finally able to move the object. I'll keep your suggestions in mind if this happens again.Doc G
  4. I've constructed several simple objects using FSDS V3. Exported them as scenery objects. Ran the resulting mdl and xml files through Library Creator XML. Compiled the modified library and moved the new bgl to the FSX Addon\scenery folder. When I run Object Placer Tool there's no problem selecting and placing the object but the object seems locked in place. I can select it and the green frame appears around the object but when I try to move the object for fine tuning the location the green boarder changes to yellow and I can't move it.Thanks in advance for any help.Doc G
  5. If you're hosting, be sure to have share cockpit checked. Not sure if that's the exact wording but you'll recognize it when you see it.Memory is a bit rusty but it seems like the player joing the session should have share cockpit unchecked. When the player joins your session they will have an option to either join the session or join the aircraft. Choose join aircraft.Hope this helps.Doc G
  6. Hi Peter,I fly multiplayer sessions with two buddies at least three times a week. I'm not an expert at it by any means but just wanted to share a few things we've noticed.Becasue of the chaos you mentioned, we never use the main lobby. If there are only two of us flying we will opt for the shared cockpit and instead of the FSX voice we use Google Talk.If all three of us are in the session, we fly in separate aircraft and use the FSX voice. It's a little tinny compared to Google Talk and occasionaly a transmission will be slightly garbled but with only three in the session the FSX voice isn't too bad. We've noticed a few things while in the shared cockpit. If the co-pilot tries to select an approach procedure on the gps, a lock-up will occur. It took us a few sessions/lock-ups to pin it down. Now only the pilot in command selects the approach and the lock-ups have stopped.Another thing we've noticed, again in the shared cockpit, is a difference in the speed control settings. If I set the speed for 250kts my friends speed setting will show 230kts. If he sets the speed for 250kts my setting will show 270kts. Doesn't happen everytime but it does happen. One other thing we've noticed is the aircraft sinking into the ground upon landing. The pilot in command will make a picture perfect landing. If the co-pilot watches the landing from the spot view he will see the aircraft sink into the ground. Sometimes it will sink almost out of sight. Other times only the wheels will sink in and other times there will be no sink at all. We're guessing a difference in connection speed is causing this. This sinking only happens while in the shared cockpit and only at touchdown. We've only scratched the surface with the ATC part of FSX multiplayer and don't have any comments on that.I've been simming since the early days with the Sub-Logic version on a Commodore 64. To sit here making comments about differences in speed settings or lock-ups caused by the co-pilot trying to select an approach procedure on the gps reminds me of how far we've come.Doc G
  7. A friend and I fly the Lear in the Multiplayer shared cockpit mode. If he sets the speed for 250 kts, the magenta number in the upper left hand corner of the primary flight display on my display will indicate it's set for 281. Although my setting shows 281, the speed indicator wheel just below the magenta number will show 250 kts, which is the proper speed. The reverse is true when I make the speed setting. His display shows 31 kts below what I've actually set, but again the aircraft flys at the set speed and the speed wheel on both displays indicates proper speed. We're also having problems with the GPS when using the select approach function. Sometimes this will cause one of machines to lock up.All other functions work fine. Setting radios, raising and lowering gear and flaps, etc. etc. We both have high speed cable internet connections with my speed being a bit higher than his.If anyone has any thoughts as to why this happens or if anyone else has encountered these problems, I'd like to hear about it.ThanksDoc G
  8. >How do you run AutogenConfigEditor.exe?>>I've tried doubleclicking on the file name and also tried>running it from a command prompt.>>All I get is an error message "The application failed to>initialize properly (0xC0000135) Click on OK to terminate the>application.>>Appreciate any help or suggestions.>>Doc GFirst run the program in the main SDK folder called something like SDK Config.exeYou'll know it when you see it.MattThanks for the reply Matt.I ran the SDKConfig but got the same error. Then took a look at the SDK overview file. Found that some of these files need Microsoft.net Framework Version 2.After downloading and installing that, I made a quick test and both SDKConfig and AutogenConfigEditor run fine.Going to play with AutogenConfigEditor and see what it'll do.Thanks again for the help.Doc G
  9. How do you run AutogenConfigEditor.exe?I've tried doubleclicking on the file name and also tried running it from a command prompt. All I get is an error message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xC0000135) Click on OK to terminate the application.Appreciate any help or suggestions.Doc G
  10. Hi Folks,One question. Can objects created using FSDS v3 be used by Library Creator XML to create object libraries for use with Rwy12?As a test, using FSDS, I've created a simple textured object, then under the Create FS Object File options, I created a Scenery Object mdl file. After that I followed the tutorial, "Converting Gmax files to work with RWY12" using the xml file created with FSDS.I've tried twice and can't get the library to show up in Rwy12. I'm guessing that either the FSDS scenery object isn't compatible or I'm making a mistake somewhere in the tutorial. Which is it? I'd greatly appreciate any help.Doc G
  11. Doug and John,Thanks for the response and answers.I made this flight again but made one change. When the same center hand offs began, I reqested higher. Moved from FL230 to FL240. After that, other than the normal hand offs between centers, I received only 3 of these same center hand offs. Don't know if moving to a different altitude made any difference or was just a coincedence.Anyway, I'm a happy camper. Great program, great support! Thanks again.Doc G
  12. On a flight from KAGS to KSTL, I was asked to Contact Atlanta Center 8 times in 186 miles. Each time it's Contact Atlanta Center and I'll be given a different frequency. Each time I contact the center and all is well for another 12 to 20 miles and then I receive the Contact Atlanta Center and given another frequency. On the same flight after being handed over to Memphis Center this happened twice in a short period of time. Only in Memphis Center air space for a short time. It happened once in Indianapolis Center air space but again was only in that air space for a short period of time before being handed over to Kansas City Center. Had to quit at this point and saved the flight. For whats it's worth, I was running fsuipc version 3.52, flying the Eaglesoft Citation X, cruise altitude was FL230 (23000')Is there something I can do to cut down on the number of handoffs or is this normal?Doc G
  13. My thinking was use Library Creator to create a library for a particular object category and then add objects that fall in that category.Maybe for the time being I need to look at adding individual obects.Doc G
  14. Hi Guys,I'm looking for help with Library Creator XML by Aron Gerretsen. I've created several scenery objects with gmax and exported them in the FS Scenery Object (*mdl) format. No problems there. I get a mdl file as well as an xml file.I run Library Creator XMl and create a new library. Then as a test I add two mdl files, save the xml file and then compile the bgl. Everything appears to be OK.I'm trying to use this newly created Library with Rwy12. I moved the files to the appropriate folders and run Rwy12.In the category drop down menu in Rwy12, the new library doesn't appear but the two objects do show up as individual selections. Instead of a name the guid is listed. Selecting either guid results in an error message. The format of the xml file created with Library Creator XML is a bit different than the xml files that came with Rwy12. I was wondering why this is. Do I need a later version of something?I'd be greatful for any help or suggestions as to what my problems may be.Doc G
