  1. Hello, I was unable to find any topics regarding this issue with carenado C208 for FS9. I saw some YT videos and it seems that some other users as well have the same issue. Basic problem is that C208 for FS9 when engine running low (for example when taxiing) there is always oil pressure low bulb lightened. Only when power applied for takeoff and RPM goes higher light comes out. I'm not sure if this is the case with real C208's or it's a bug with Carenado's C208 for FS9... most likely bug because I saw none real C208 cockpit videos or C208 for FSX with such a behaviour. Is there any solution for it? No updates at the moment on official Carenado page that solve this. Your comments are welcome... thanks for your help in advance. BR, Dubravko!
  2. It is a simple procedure to add a new transition to an existing approach. First of all you have to find .BGL file associated with default/stock FS9 airport. For example Zagreb Pleso Int'l ZAG/LDZA data is written among some other airports data in AP951250.bgl which is stored in FS9/scenery/Eurw folder.Using NewBglAnalyze tool I decompiled this BGL into editable .txt (or .xml file). Then within this decompiled file you have to find section of code which is associated with your airport (since the file is big "search" or "find" options within text editor are helpful). Then within airport code you have to locate section of code where approaches are coded. First I studied how this approaches are written and then I added new transition to one of existing approaches in a similar way other default/stock approaches were coded.Anyway the problem was that I made a typo and even though my modified .xml file was passing compilation (which is done using BglComp tool of FS9 SDK) I didn't have an option to ask ATC for transition approach once I was flying in the sim. After correcting that typo and compiling again problem was solved and now for LDZA I can ask for ILS 05 approach via PIS NDB and it is working great. So basically I modified certain AP******.blg file in order to get a new approach. This will not do the thing if you use modified AFCAD airport which has higher priority than default/stock airport and if within this modified airports AFCAD .bgl file code is option deleteAllApproaches set to true (deleteAllApproaches="TRUE"). In that case you won't have any of default/stock airports approaches available in the sim. However if you use modified AFCAD file and mentioned option of deleteAllApproaches is set to false (deleteAllApproaches="FALSE") you get an airport with newer and better AFCAD and desired parking spots/gates, taxiways etc. like in the real world and with all default approaches from default/stock airpot which you can edit in a way I just described above. Also please note, it is very important to make backups of original files before editing.Best wishes,Dubravko :(
  3. OK, thanks Arno.It seems that FS addon producers like Aerosoft or FlyTampa that make great sceneries put a lot of time in creating it and optimizing for best performance. On the other hand some producers obviously are not able to spend a lot of time in optimizing the scenery for best performance so sometimes even small sceneries cause extreme drop in fps.Regards, Dubravko
  4. Hi,this discussion got mine attention so last night I started doing some BGL decompiling and adding new approach to Zagreb Int'l, Croatia (LDZA/ZAG). Default LDZA has ILS 05 and ILS 23 approaches already programmed. ILS 23 approach via VOR ZAG transition is already programmed, but ILS 05 approach usually goes over PIS NDB and is not available in the sim so in a bad weather when ILS 05 is active ATC gives mi one good roller coaster drive around area before giving me clearance to intercept the localizer.Anyway I studied some Jim Viles files/posts and added ILS 05 approach with NDB PIS transition and the approach is available in FS GPS. However, when I fly ATC first gives me vectros to final approach, and when I want to ask for ILS05 with PIS transition I do not see this option in ATC window.Any thoughts on this? So new approach is visible and selectable in GPS unit but it's not selectable when communicating wtih ATC.EDIT: Problem solved! :(
  5. Luis, thanks for reply! There is no significant difference in the size of textures between for example AS Cologne/Bonn and FSQuality Zagreb or Split airport. The biggest textures for FSQuality Zagreb are like 300kB in size (6 of them) and the others are 100kB and less. Looks to me that this are the DXT3 textures. Also please note that AS Cologne/Bonn has some textures which are 1MB in size and it has a lot more textures than FSQuality Zagreb for example. Also taxi/apron textures for all FSQuality airports from Croatia-Slovenia scenery are default FS9 textures so I think there is no custom ground polygons. There is no animated vehicles in the area, at least I didn't noticed any.The problem might be that near Zagreb airport is another small GA airfield and when users aircraft is positioned at one of them scenery for both airports is loaded I guess.I'll have to play with this a little bit more to see whats causing some of this less complex airports to give mi such a low fps.Regards, Dubravko!
  6. Hi everyone,I have a little problem that keeps bugging me and so far I have no solution to it.I'm running FS9 (FS2004) on my machine. Here are the specs:WIN XP Pro SP3AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 4000+ at 2.11 GHz3GB of RAM DDR2 at 800MHzNVidia GeForce 9500GT 512MB of RAMWestern Digital HD 250GBand the problem is low frame rates with some sceneries. For example I don't have low frame rates problems with some complex airports like Aerosofts Cologne/Bonn or Aerosofts Leipzig/Halle (with most of the airports that are from Aerosofts GA2 pack I have at least 15fps with ActiveSky weather engine running and complex airplanes like PMDG 737 flown from VC). Also FlyTampa sceneries (for example Vienna, St. Maarten or Miami) are running at 15fps at least as well as FlightZone Portland or Rhode Island scenery. On the other hand a little bit lower fps I get with really complex airports like Mega Airport Frankfurt or London but this does not suprise me a lot. What does suprise me a lot that I get like from 6 to 8 fps with some airports from Aerosofts German Airports 1, 3 and 4 packs (for example D
  7. It seems that those commas were cause of the problems...I've managed to exclude default terminal buildings and control tower...it works great.Again thanks for your help and best wishes...Dubravko
  8. It seems that we are online at very same time...I'll try to change commas to decimal point...Thanks for quick reply...Best regards...
  9. Thanks for reply...I'm facing north when using ExcBuilder...before I start doing anything I switch to slew mode in FS and hit space...this way my aircraft turns to north......this is how it's described in tutorial, but again I still have the problem with compiling and creating .bgl file.I've also tried to change coordinate values manually in xml code but I still don't get .bgl file created.Best regards.
  10. Hi,this is my first try to scenery design. I tried to do some modifications to LDZA, my hometown airport(Zagreb Pleso Intrenational airport, Croatia). So I managed to add a few static aircrafts and some other objects with RWY12 and I decided to add some new terminal buildings, new tower and remove default ones. This is where my problem with ExcBuilder starts. I downloaded program from the AVSIM library with tutorials and downloaded BGLCOMP SDK and MSXML 4.0 from Microsoft. I have also downloaded FSconnect required for communication with FS and installed all these programs as described in installation files and tutorial. At my first try it turned out that ExcBuilder didn't create .BGL file for my exclude although I followed insturctions from tutorial. So I saved my XML code and compiled it manually using compile.bat also found within tutorial zipped file.It turns out that compilation cannot be done because latitude minimum must be less than latitude maximum. I looked for a solution of this problem on the Internet and found few topics on this problem but no solution. Here is my XML source code...it should exclude default airport tower from scenery:<?xml version="1.0"?>So, any help would be appreciated because I'm already losing my nervs with this simple program. Am I doing something wrong???Thanks for your help...Dubravko
  11. It happens often in Seattle area with default FS9 traffic. Usually DC-3 is involved. It reports missed approach and then asks for clearence to another airport. I was simming yesterday and it happened with DC-3 at Renton airport (KRNT).RegardsDubravko
  12. Yes I have installed patch but it no improvements! As someone already wrote I think that this is somekind of bug with "load saved flight option".I've also found out that crash won't happen if I save flight just before contacting ground and exit to main menu screen. After that I can load saved flight and continue with contacting ground and taxing to parking spot or gate without CTD. This is the best solution that I found out so far.RegardsDubravko
  13. "Is your destination airport or surrounding area standard scenery, or addon?""...or maybe voice pack files related."No, I do not use any addon airports or scenery. Also I do not use any addon voice packs, although I get error report with ATC.dll involved!!! I'm new to FS community and I'm still looking for some addons. It is really hard to make decision when buying addons because there is so much of them available and it's hard to pick something out...I can't have all of them! So far I tried some new aircrafts but that's it.Funny thing that I found out...this problem seems to appear only if I load previously saved flight. If I create new flight from untowered airport to towered airport I don't get CTD or error report and everything works just fine!!!Since I usually fly GA I created my own system of flying...I don't create new flight everytime but always load previously saved flight and then I create new flight plan and continue where I stopped last time! As I already wrote everything works fine this way but if I previously landed to nontowered airpot and then choose to fly to towered airport I get CTD after landing and just before contacting ground.Best regards...Dubravko
  14. Hello everyone,I have a strange problem with FS2004. Everytime when I do VFR flight from small uncontroled airport (nontowered) to towered airport, FS freezes after I clear of the runway and get instructions from tower to contact ground. Shortly after freezing FS crashes to desktop and I get Windows notice about error caused by ATC.dll module. Here is the example: Flight from Arlington KAWO to Renton KRNTAfter takeoff I contact departure and ask flight follow...Some 8 nm from Renton airport I cancel flight follow and contact Renton tower...blah blah...Renton tower: Cleared for landing...And I land normally...After clearing off the runway Renton tower: contact ground on...AND FREEZE...CRASH TO DESKTOP.This does not happen when I fly IFR, but it happens no mater what aircraft I fly and as long as I choose to fly from nontowered airport to towered airport.I just switched from FU3 to FS and I don't know much about it. I know that there are many addons available but I would really like to test it for a while without any addons. Hope that someone could help me with this problem...Best wishes...DubravkoP.S. I think that this problem is not computer issue!!
  15. Hello again, found some callsign lists on AVSIM flie library but it seems that not all of callsigns are recognized by FS2004.RegardsDubravko
