Got it. Thanks for the quick answer Kyle!

Hey Glyn, I uninstalled the NGX and FS2Crew and then reinstalled the NGX SP1d and FS2Crew. Just completed a flight, and I didn't have any issues with FS2Crew.
Kyle, thanks for your effort with the NGX SP1d beta. Dumb question, to activate the weather radar do I just hit the WXR button in the MCP? I did that, and it says 4+ or something like that on the left side of the PFD, but I don't see any returns at all. Granted, there were not a lot of clouds around during my flight. So that could be it.
Thanks,
Gary Merka

I also own a Jetline system, and I second all of the positive comments here about them. Greg and Ken went out of their way to help me with my system. I would not think of buying an FSX PC anywhere else.

Bryan developed an excellent cargo version for the PMDG MD11, so I'm sure he will be able to deliver something similar for the 777.

As a follow-up, reinstalling the Redistributable Program packages didn't fix my problem. I finally resolved it by reinstalling FSX and all my addons. Thanks again for the assistance Jim.

Jim, thanks for the quick reply! Since I already have the 2005, 2008, and 2010 versions installed, do I just run these Service Packs to update my existing versions? Or do in need to uninstall and reinstall? Thanks for your help.

I had been using the PMDG NGX with TrackIR 5, FS2Crew, Radar Contact, and GSX with no problems for a long time. Then one day, during the preflight portion of the flight where the FO is do his cockpit setup routine, FSX crashed with the message "FSX has stopped working." The Faulting Module was MSVCR80.dll. Initially I chalked it up to just a random FSX crash. But then it kept occurring, at the exact same point in the flight. Almost always the Faulting Module was MSVCR80.dll. I thought this was odd, since I hadn't installed any programs or made any significant changes to FSX. The crash never occurred with any other aircraft, so I thought maybe it was a problem with the NGX or FS2Crew. So I uninstalled and re-installed these, but the crash kept happening. Then I read a lot about the MSVCR80.dll crash being due to a problem with the C ++ Redistributable Programs I have the following Redistributable Programs on my PC:
2005 8.0.61001
2005 8.0.56336
2008 x64 9.0.30729.4148
2008 x64 9.0.30729.6161
2008 x86 9.0.30729.17
2008 x86 9.0.30729.4148
2008 x86 9.0.30729.6161
2010 x86 10.0.40219I want to uninstall and re-install some or all of these programs. When I look on the microsoft.com website, there are alot of Redistributable Program packages available for download. Does anyone know Which ones I should uninstall and re-install for a Windows 7 64 bit PC? Should I only uninstall and re-install the 2005 versions? If so, which ones do I need to download? If this doesn't work, does anyone know what else I could try? Any help very much appreciated.

OK, I found a solution for this. Previously, I would always enter the SID, departure rwy, STAR, and arrival rwy during my FMC preflight. Then, if ATC changed my departure or arrival rwy, I would have to change it in the FMC and it would lock up the NGX. So I began entering the departure rwy given to me by ATC, and I would not enter the arrival rwy until it was assigned by Approach. Using this method, I now only enter the departure and arrival rwys once and then I dont change them. Since I went to this method, the NGX has not locked up on me anymore. Just thought I would share this, maybe it will help others with this problem.

I am having the same problem. Also happens to me on the ground. I will have a RWY and SID or STAR input in the FMC. Then ATC gives me a different arrival or departure RWY. I go into the FMC to change it, and as soon as I click on the new arrival or departure RWY it freezes. Doesnt happen every flight, and I cant duplicate it. I was not having this problem prior to SP1c.

OK. I had been using the "APU" power source option for my arrivals, so I decided to switch to "EXT/AC" and see if that made a difference. I made several flights using "EXT/AC"instead of "APU" and I have not had any more crashes when I shut the engines down. The sequence is different (shut down #2 first, wait for ext power to be connected, then shut down #1 for "EXT/AC" versus shutting down both engines at the once for "APU." So maybe something in the order of the shut down sequence causes it. At least switching to "EXT/AC" seems to work for me.

OK. I have tried all of the fixes mentioned above, but I am still having crashes shortly after the engines are shutdown. Anybody been able to solve this one yet?

Does your throttle quadrant have fuel cutoff switches?
What can happen is the hardware sends a signal saying the fuel switch is in a certain position that doesn't necessary match up with the actual position of the fuel switch in the aircraft.
Thanks Bryan. No, my throttle quad doesnt have fuel cuttoff switches. Is there a way I can tell if my hardware is sending a signal saying the fuel start levers are in a certain position?
-
Gary,
Are you using external hardware?
Assuming you're not getting the SDK message, that's the only thing I can think of that might explain the Start Levers "are you sure about that" call.
Sometimes external hardware does not sync properly.
Hey Bryan, Thanks for the help.
I'm not getting the SDK message. I'm not sure what you mean by "external hardware does not sync properly.". The only external hardware I run is: 1) Saitek Pro Flight Yoke + Throt Quadrant, 2) Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, and 3) Track Clip Pro for Track IR 5. Not running the Saitek Calibration software. All connected via USB. I checked all of my button/key assingments in FSX and FSUIPC for the fuel start levers and I have nothing assinged for start levers.
Could you possibly change the Captain's response to "Set" or "Checked" instead of "Cuttoff"? Like I said its not a showstopper. Just a minor thing.
Thanks,
-
For the record I dont use either GSX or AES, but I still have the crashes on arrival as described above. Not every flight, maybe half of them.
I also have the problem with the start lever position during the pre-flight checklist on every flight. The FO always says "Are you sure about that?" even though the start levers are in the correct position. But for some reason during the shutdown checklist he never says "Are you sure about that?"
Hope you can figure these out Bryan. But neither is a showstopper for me. Still enjoying the NGX version of FS2Crew very much.

I am having the exact same problem described above. Doesnt happen on every flight, but when it happens it always occurs at the same place (after moving start levers to cuttoff and before the FA says "all slides are disarmed."
-
Thanks a lot Bryan. That's exactly what I was wanting to know.

For realism I like to keep the main panel minimized as much as possible. So to open the PA or BR windows, I first have to open the Main Panel, then click on the PA or BR buttons. I know that you can open the PA window directly by using the Captains com panel, but is there another way to open the PA or BR windowns directly?
Thanks.

Thanks Bryan!! Will test V1.3 tonite and report back.
-
OK. I just did another flight. This time I made sure that the "CAB" knob on the main panel was turned all the way up. But I still dont hear anything from the FA. Any other ideas guys?
-
Thanks for the feedback guys. As I noted in my post I do have the "CAB" knob on the main panel turned up to about the 11:00 position, but I still dont hear the FA. Having it at the 11:00 position worked in previous versions. Do I need to turn it all the way up (to the 5:00 position) to hear the FA in version 1.2? Also, does it make any difference when the "CAB" knob is turned up (turn it up first and then hit the "Run PF" button or hit the "Run PF" button and then turn it up)?
-
Bryan, thanks for the 1.2 update. I have made several flights with version 1.2, and since the update I no longer can hear the flight attendant (safety briefing, cruise message, etc.). I heard her announcements in the original release and after the first update, but I lost her afer version 1.2. I tried reinstalling a few times (including an uninstall and reinstall) but I still cant hear the FA. I have the CAB button turned up and I have the latest update for the NGX. Any ideas? I noticed a few others had this problem too.

I use Radar Contact, and it assigns 121.65 for Ground quite often. To avoid this problem you can change the frequency for Ground Control in the Controller Info section when you load your flight plan.

Very nice Julio. Thanks!!

Anyone have any feedback on these? Can you use reverse thrust with it? Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks.
